So...
Beating a dead horse is not something I am here to do. Every guy on the planet at one time or another has most likely thought...damn...I want to work in porn. As in...I want to fuck pornstars. I am no different...sure...that would be cool. But I grew up with the rise of internet porn. I am 30...good looking...former Army officer...college degree...etc. and so on. This isn't a resume. I grew up spending more time on sites like this...industry sites...interviews, etc...than I did beating my dick. I decided I need to do something new with my life. The sex industry is my passion (please keep your jokes to yourself...im serious...I have blogged about it...watched it...fought with my spouse about it...etc...I need to get into what I am into.
Does anyone...industry side or otherwise have any thoughts? Sure...I want to go to the gym and get in shape and would love to be on camera...but I know that is like saying I want to be a pro hockey player (I do play beer league hockey) and that won't most likely happen. But I want to work in the biz...to use the example...in the rink...in the stadium...in the business.
I have a background in computers...I can do tech stuff...I am a writer...I'm just passionate about this...any thoughts?
Please spare me the useless...oh you pathetic fanboy crap....that really isn't me...I am VERY serious about this.

With all due respect fam what exactly you want to do in the industry? Be a performer, a director, a camera man, a site owner, a reviewer?
One thing you can do is to write reviews starting from this site. You could also create a new porn site. Then you can upload to this or to another a few amateur videos of your sexual adventures. At least this is what most of them out there do. You will see how it goes and then decide what to do next. Warning being a director is not so easy as many think it is!

Buying a dildo and using it to play with your ass would open a lot of doors, a willingness to do gay/bi scenes will give you an edge over other male talent.
Kidding aside, there are threads on here where others say the exact same thing you are. Sometimes industry people respond in them and give advice, maybe try using the search function and reading those posts.
I've heard investing in video equipment and filming your own escapades with amateur woman is a realistic option. I don't know if there are legal issues with doing this.
You have to be able to maintain an erection for long periods of time and be comfortable with other men with boom mics standing around you, fuck in awkward positions for camera angles, and be able to cum on demand. I imagine those skills are even more important than being attractive or having a big cock.

The most telling thing you wrote was, "...fought with my spouse about it..." If you're going to jeopardize your relationship, you're going to have to think hard if you want to take this risk. I'm a little confused because you sort of imply you don't want to be a performer and you have other marketable skills perhaps that could be of use. Trouble is, if you don't know somebody in the industry it's going to be hard to get that foot in the door. I suppose if you offered your skills for free or next to nothing, you might get a chance to prove yourself. The business is doing rather poorly so that would be your best bet. No one has a lot of money to throw around. Unfortunately, the recurring theme I've seen is if a guy wants to get into the industry, they have to know some super hot female that companies want to shoot who can bring you along so you can offer your talents. Since your spouse isn't onboard that sounds unrealistic. You might find this old reddit article interesting. The guy who wrote it was in the insurance business, but due to a performer girlfriend ended up a porn camera man. He did it for a while, but eventually quit when he met the girl of his dreams who didn't approve. He says he's happier now because the shoots were so long and at such oddball hours it totally messed up his day to day life. He says he is back in the insurance business.

I'm curious to know what steps you've taken so far to make this happen for you.
