S1 E4 : Lesbian Twins w/ Shyla Jennings , Jenna Sativa & Kristen Scott
The episode opens with Kristen and her dad ( played by Tommy Gunn )
arriving late in the afternoon to meet Tommy's new girlfriend. Kristen plays obviously annoyed and is distracted by a game. Her dad is trying again to impress upon his daughter how important the weekend could be. He says that Marjorie ( Chanel Preston ) is excited to meet her. Kristen couldn't care less. She's a rocker babe ( Miranda) with an attitude and busies herself writing song lyrics while her dad drones on. By the time they arrive at the door he's just trying to keep a lid on his frustration.
Chanel is very happy to welcome the two to her home for dinner and assures Kristen that they she will have a great time meeting her girls. Jenna Sativa and Shyla Jennings come down the stairs on cue dressed identically in pink shirts and white skirts ' good girl' outfits. They introduce themselves as 'twins' Becky and Vicky. Later the whole group sits down for dinner and Chanel has brought some sushi. It's a Friday night ritual for Chanel's family. This prompts Tommy to ask about the family history. Tommy has rented his favorite movie to share with the girls. Kristen has other ideas and stops her dad before he puts the tape in. Kristen suddenly wants to be very accommodating to her dad and his girlfriend. She brings up that they never get to spend time alone and suggests that they go out on a proper date night alone. Kristen assures them that the girls can look after themselves for an evening. It doesn't take too much convincing and Jenna and Shyla agree that they can have a girls night and get to know each other. Tommy is a little skeptical of his daughter's motives but he isn't about to waste his own opportunity.
Once the parents are gone Kristen turns to the girls and says she's not really feeling her dad's movie selection - but it's fine because she has something better. Something romantic and adult. She got it at the video store special. It's a Vivid movie ( Ginger and Spice , 1987 ). Kristen gets confirmation that they are all mature enough to handle it before putting the movie in.
She comes back to the couch and sits between the sisters in silence. When it comes on Jenna wants to know what kind of romance it is. This was another really great episode. I love story that was told so easily here of one girl showing the two inexperienced ones porn. It's a simple enough idea but ends up being a plot that apart from finer details is probably the most relatable scene idea yet in the first slate of Girlcore scenes.
Every porn fan likely remembers the first time they saw a ' dirty movie ' some of the GW audience may even remember the first lesbian scene they saw. While exact specifics for me are a little hazy I do remember the first genuinely all-girl scenes I saw that wasn't on Cinemax after dark and it just so happened that many of the best were actually Vivid. I remember the Where The Boys Aren't series with a lot of fondness. I was a big fan of stars like Felicia , Raylene and Dasha in the 90's when the idea of a strictly lesbian company was too much to hope for. I really liked some all girl orgies that were in VCA features but Vivid was the one making fully lesbian series I got my hands on. For that reason this episode really scratched that nostalgia for me in a more overt way. And luckily for Girlsway members , an account now gets us access to a wide array of vivid content ( through the larger Adult Time portal ) while the current output has kept me busy I do intend to go back through some WTBA to try and find some gems. I remember one installment that took place in a garage body shop that I know is available (# 15) that was one of the first porn movies I actually owned.
Aside from the personal trip down memory lane I just loved Kristen's look and style here. She was going for a kind of Joan Jett thing with her outfit and hair and let me say that it fucking WORKED for her right on down to those fingerless gloves.
Jenna and Shyla are known to be close friends so casting them as touchy twins was in itself rather brilliant. I thought it was also interesting how they played the parts on just on the edge of creepy. Maybe I've just seen The Shining ( and its famous hallway twins ) one too many times though I do think if this had been a Halloween special they wouldn't have had to change much aside from some dialog and it would have been something entirely different but still endlessly captivating.
I appreciate that one of these episodes focused on a taboo story , but found a way to make it unique. Any fan knows that taboo is one of the pillars of modern pornography so it makes sense we would get one in the series, but to ground it in a scene that also nods to porn history though the classics is a cool touch.
I would have liked a little more direct shots of cunnilingus though all in all this is a fantastic scene and another that I will gladly watch again.
Bree Mills has said that she is aiming to push those nostalgic buttons with Girlcore - and I'm beginning to see more than just the decade of the 1980's as central to the themes. It's also proving to touch on sexual awareness and or awakening in a wider , deeper way than I first realized and this episode most of all so far. I shouldn't be surprised by that attempt at something more - but now I do feel more obliged to pay attention to every little detail and that's truly awesome.
