They are full sisters. We went through a big discussion about that a while ago and after getting the word from various industry people and the girls themselves, we figured out that they both have the same mother and father, but different last names because of some hokey stupidity that their parents went through around the time of one of them being born (I forget which one didn't end up with the father's last name). I don't remember the exact details. I think drugs were involved.
