And maybe they tired of constantly having to take them out and so just let it heal over. Whereas I get the feeling that there would be fewer such scenarios today. That said, performers might just tire of these piercings for personal or medical reasons too. The best feeling for me is when I come across a new pierced performer, especially when it is one who I've seen without a pierced tongue before. Always feet n ass. In that order. [Link]

Your last point is interesting l..most performers i find with pierced tongue started with it in, i can't think of any recent examples except mia kay who's first few scenes she didn't have it pierced but has in most scenes since. Would be fun to see a long term performer that i like get it done, i can't think of that happening many times unless I'm missing someone obvious. [Link]

In a day I can watch many scenes featuring different performers in different years. So more often than not it is discovering an earlier scene of a performer with her tongue pierced when all I have seen of her is a few later scenes from when she took it out.
