Watched the first part of Spun. Tbh, it didn't exactly blow me away. The first part is nearly 70 minutes and story-wise pretty much NOTHING has happened. I didn't think the sex was that good either, It just felt like there was something missing. I liked the esthetic of it though and it's great to see Casey direct and just seeing features in general.
The first episode of "Spun" sucked ass. It's like they paired one girl I like with one I don't for all the scenes. So, who's left? Dana/Lauren/Liz threesome and Freya/Maya, I guess? Couldn't be worse than part one.
There's so many other pairings I would have preferred.

Alright this is my review of Part 1 of Spun. According to Bree Mills's comments, this is the first full length feature of Girlsway since 2020. Anyway, I like this first part. It sets up some of the characters and hints at some of the stories. The acting required is relatively minimal, but what's there is done pretty well. This video has two separate sex scenes (well, two and half). I'll review the story first, then each of the two sex scenes separately. I like both of them. Neither is spectacular, but both very nice.
We are first introduced to two characters played by Chanel Camryn and Alexis Tae (they each have their own different names in the movie, but to avoid confusion I'll just use their usual nom de porn). Chanel is spazzing out because she's hosting a party and is nervous about meeting her old high school crush Freya Parker. Chanel is still in the closet, and Alexis, it turns out, is sort of her friend with benefit. The banter between them is short, but pretty fun and quite naturalistic. Anyway, they have sex. Later, Alexis helps Chanel to set up the party, and then we are introduced to Chanel's sister played by Electra Rayne, who apparently also knows about Chanel's old crush, much to the latter's chagrin.
Alexis leaves (we are not quite sure how she feels about the nature of her relationship with Chanel), and the guests arrive (Liz Jordan, Lulu Chu, Freya Parker, and Maya Woulfe). It's funny the way Freya is brought up. Chanel and others are just talking about her, and she says hi, and the camera snaps to her face, and we are blessed with the proverbial megawatt smile. To Chanel's surprise and disappointment, Freya has a girlfriend (Maya), who has been reluctantly dragged to this party. Maya plays the long-suffering girlfriend who gives off the "seriously do we really have to do this" energy very well -- it's pretty funny. In an apparently B plot (or just a pointless sidetrack?), Lulu flirts with Electra who is too cool to hang with her sister.
To relive their highschool glory days, they play the titular spin the bottle game. Chanel spins, then suddenly says to Freya, "Wait, I still have that coconut lip gloss" (which made me laugh -- how unintentionally seasonal for American politics). Just as she said it, the camera again goes to Freya's face, who looks to be... intrigued? Chanel runs to her room and digs out the lip gloss and puts it on.
What is the significance of the lip gloss? It's never explained. I think it's a foreshadowing of the next episode, which will in turn be a flashback. Perhaps Chanel and Freya had shared a secret kiss back in high school, when one of them used that lip gloss? Hopefully we'll find out.
Just as she runs back to the gathering, Chanel is reminded of the fact that Freya now has a girlfriend. She runs to the laundry room in misery. In the laundry room, she would masturbate to the scent of the lip gloss (here's the "half" sex scene). It's pretty hot (Chanel is a hot girl), but in general I don't much care for masturbation scenes, so I'll not review this part. Then we go to the sex scene in a separate room with Lulu and Electra. At the end we return to the party, where apparently they spin the bottle again, and this time Freya and Maya kiss, while a crestfallen Chanel looks on. In the final moments, we are treated to a bit of comedy, with Bree cameo as a pizza girl who is horny for Freya (who isn't?)
Chanel is the main character in this story and has the most lines in part 1. I find her very attractive, and she does a nice job in terms of acting. She gives off a bit of the comedic valley girl vibe, but it's rarely (if ever) over the top. One criticism I have is for the masturbation scene. I don't care for it as a sex scene, but also it just doesn't fit. It's not appropriate emotionally, as Chanel is clearly sad at that moment. In a broader sense it's also not realistic, as the rest of the film is.
Anyway, onto my review of the sex. First is between Chanel and Alexis.
Alexis Tae has done a lot of g/g scenes in the last few years. She is very cute, but in some of her earlier scenes I feel she's not very good at pleasuring women on camera. However, over time, I genuinely feel she is actually getting better and better. This scene is a good example, where you can see her beautifully licking and sucking Chanel's clit (by the way Chanel does her patented body-shaking thing several times in this scene, sometimes to Alexis' evident amusement).

On a somewhat tangent observation: it seems to me many (if not most) new girls in porn, when they do g/g scene, they always do oral sex (with varying degree of proficiency), probably because they understand this is what's expected in porn lesbian sex. But only among the seasoned experts will you find women who confidently and skillfully use their fingers. If this observation is true, then Alexis has proudly graduated to the next level.

This is the B plot/sex between Lulu and Electra. Apparently Electra used to be Lulu's babysitter? I think they really missed an opportunity for some dirty talking. My expectations are low because I just don't find Lulu all that attractive. But here it's Electra gorgeously showing off her finger-fucking prowess. At maximum, Electra has 4 fingers inside Lulu, who clearly enjoys it. Later Electra fucks Lulu beautifully with three fingers. OK this is my review of Part 2 of Spun. Overall I enjoyed the movie a lot (though there is one significant problem with the plot, which I'll get to later). I really like Chanel's acting. Casey Calvert, who wrote and directed this, has done a very nice job.
A lot more drama takes place in this second part, so like part 1, I'll split my review into the plot and sex. First here's a long review the story.
We start with Chanel and Electra's two moms, played by Dana Vespoli and Lauren Phillips, coming home with a birthday cake for Chanel, who looks so cute. There's some pretty funny comic relief here from Electra Rayne and Maya Woulfe.
Liz Jordan wanders off from the party and looks through the bedroom door of Dana and Lauren. They have a threesome. Meanwhile, Freya and her girlfriend Maya have a conversation in the kitchen.
Here I think is the biggest (and really the only major) problem with the plot. Maya accuses Freya for "being weird ever since we got here." This is what the plot requires for Maya and Freya to break up and for Freya to get with Chanel, but the problem is that this is telling, not showing. As far as I can see, Freya has never acted "weird." There should have been a scene or two to show how she gets nervous or flirtatious with Chanel with Maya watching on. Since there's no such scene, this accusation from Maya doesn't make sense.
Anyway, later Freya finds Chanel in the garage grabbing sleeping bags from a shelf and goes to help her out. She jokingly calls Chanel "shrimp" and this nicely establishes the easy and natural chemistry between them. The funny thing is it really is true. Freya is a giant compared to Chanel (5'10''/178cm vs 5'2''/157cm).
Then they have sort of a mini-fight, as Chanel expresses her frustration that Freya brought her girlfriend here. I think the acting here from Chanel is very nice. Then we get to the sleepoever, and Electra is pretty funny as she snidely remarks that she can't believe a bunch of adults are about to do this. Chanel is asked about her sweater, and she says it's from "Dave," and this prompts one of the funniest moment in the movie, which also happens to be a critical turning point.
Maya, who apparently has had enough of the sexual tension between her girlfriend Freya and Chanel (the tension that we never got to actually see), points to each girl in the room in turn, calling them "gay, gay, gay" and finally pointing to the flannel-wearing Electra as a "super dyke," bluntly asks what what Chanel, a "breeder" is doing here.
Electra leaps to her little sister's defense, blurting out Chanel's long running crush on Freya, prompting super hard cringes from Chanel and Freya, and for Maya to turning around and marching out.
Freya goes after Maya, and Chanel follows, only to see Maya getting into an uber and leaving Freya behind (Maya is the only one with a non-sex role here). I think this breakup feels a bit too sudden, and the movie would have been better off if there's some foreshadowing, hinting at existing trouble between Maya and Freya. Anyway, feeling miserable, she sits on the steps, only for Freya to come along and comfort her.
They have a really nice conversation here, with Chanel confessing her closeted crush on Freya. Freya, apparently completely surprised, asks why Chanel never told her this. Chanel retorts, "How? You've always had a girlfriend." She also laments her lack of confidence like the other girls. The emoting, the pace of the dialogue, the sincerity of the confessions -- this is done really well by Chanel. This part is sort of the dramatic high point of the movie, and she really handles it well.
They later move to Chanel's bedroom and the coconut flavored lip gloss comes back. Freya says, "I can't believe you kept my lip gloss," and also "So many memories behind that one tube." I had predicted in my review of part 1 that there would be some flashback regarding the lipgloss, but no. This is really another weak point of the plot.
So basically I think there are three things they should have put in but didn't: add some scenes where Freya acting "weird" around Chanel (this is the most important), some hints at trouble between Maya and Freya, and a flashback about the lip gloss. It's possible they shot these, but cut them due to time constraint. I would have cut out the Chanel masturbation scene in part 1 to save on the time.
Anyway, as you might have guessed, they have sex after this.
Next morning, everyone wakes up, and we follow Electra who pushes open Chanel's bedroom door. The camera goes in, and we see Chanel and Freya in bed. Interestingly, the expression on Freya's face is just... neutral? Is that meant to convey some uncertainty/regret over what she has done? Or just bad acting?
Anyway, to conclude, the cinematography, the production of the movie is done well. When I heard it's going to be a "dramedy," I was concerned there would be too much cringey/forced humor, but the light-handed approach to comic relief is pretty nice. There are some missteps in terms of setting up the drama, but it's still pretty enjoyable. Chanel should at least get a nomination for best actress for her acting here. Casey wrote and directed this, and she should also get at least a couple of nominations for this.
p.s.: one comment on the website that made me laugh is "I'm so glad you didn't try to shoe-horn an orgy into this movie." Yeah that would have been wildly inappropriate.
So this is my review of the sex of Part 2 of Spun. This one is going to be long.
First, we have a threesome scene with Liz Jordan, Dana Vespoli, and Lauren Phillips. I'm not a fan of threesomes in general, but since this is part of the movie, I'll review it. There are a few things I can say about it in general. First, the pace is on the slow, sensual, languid side. Second, unlike the two sex scenes in part 1 (especially the first one between Chanel Camryn and Alexis Tae), this feels much more realistic rather than pornish. The lighting, for example, is very subdued rather than bright (which of course causes some problems), there are relatively few closeups, and there are very few extravagant sex positions (like tribbing, face-sitting). Lastly, even though it's a threesome, most of the action is really one on one, which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. So overall I like it.
First, it's Liz and Lauren sexily kissing and touching, with Dana mostly just looking on.
Then it's reciprocal oral between Liz and Lauren. The camera for the most part stays some distance away, but from what can be seen, the oral is very nice. Later Dana does use the strapon to fuck Lauren from behind while Lauren eats Liz's pussy, but the focus is still mostly on the oral.
Then Dana fucks Liz in missionary with the strapon. The action is very hot, and Liz rubs her clit hard while getting fucked. Lauren mostly stays on the side. There's one moment when both Dana and Liz watch her masturbate while the two of them keep fucking. Knowing that Dana and Lauren are supposed to be married, there's something very kinky and hot about it. The last part though is just weird, where Lauren goes behind to slap and push on Dana as she fucks Liz.

This one is just superb. And Chanel, having done her first g/g scene in just 2023, has unquestionably arrived on the scene with this movie. Her body-shaking bit does make me roll my eyes, but her sexual talent is undeniable, and she also did a very good job in terms of acting. Girlsway typically centers their story-based miniseries around one (or two) girls, and I must say they made an excellent choice here with Chanel Camryn as the leading star of this series.
The scene is only about 20 minutes long, but it feels a lot longer for two reasons. One is the excellent kissing/foreplay is so slow and sensual. Another is that later on (as you'll see), there are only three very simple and straightforward sex positions. I have always advocated this approach, as opposed to the cramming 7 or 8 positions into 20 minutes approach. It should be noted that this approach to sex also fits with the story, which is between two people who have an emotional connection, as opposed to the sex with Chanel and Alexis, which does have some more "exotic" positions, since their relationship is based on just sex.
Another great thing about this foreplay is that there are a lot of sexy and soft touches, especially from Freya, such that it seems the two are just really enjoying the sensations of feeling each other's bodies.
Not too much to be said about Freya's oral, except to note that she later adds one then two fingers to her mouth, and it looks fantastic. I sincerely hope this "finger-tongue combo" becomes the standard for Girlsway.

The only disappointment I have with the movie "Spun" is not seeing Freya and Maya have sex together. They were in a relationship I figured I'd get to see them have sex before going to visit Chanel. That's the only disappointment other than that I really liked the feature Casey made.

Chanel Camryn's quivering in Spun didn't really look quite genuine, but the idea of it is generally intelligent. There are other significantly more stupid-looking ways to fake it in porn lol.
Getting down the timing and aesthetics of breathing, facial expressions, visceral-sounding vocalization and the presentation of "involuntary" movements to make it all look legit has gotta be hard. But props to her for trying a bit. Most won't aim for a realism approach at all.

I've not watched a ton of Kristen Scott, so I couldn't say, but I think it's usually pretty obvious when someone is doing something naturally/involuntarily versus when they are attempting to act something out. It's as much about comparing the women to themselves as it is comparing them to each other.
