The reason Howard Stern is 'Howard Stern' is that he speaks for millions of people, people relate to him, to many he is not only the shock shock throwing bologna slices at mayonaise slathered asses of hot chicks but someboy who speaks the truth to some degree. Howard was talking today about him and his girlfriend watching porn last night. He was watching a 'Hustler's Barely Legal' movie - the scene he was describing featured a girl who obviously isn't up to the standards I've seen in the Barely Legal series - said she had a gut, compared her facially to James Woods and as far as her barely legal status, he quipped the movie should have been titled 'Barely 36'. BUT I've posted the same thing on RAME and have been saying this since I started watching porn as a teenager. Stern called the music INSTANT BUZZKILLER!! And then the rest of Stern's crew echoed the same thing. Gary, Stern's producer 'Bababooey' said he wants to hear 'every drop of sweat hit the floor', every grunt, every groan, every slap of skin. I keep asking the question but never get an answer - WHO THE FUCK OUT THERE IN PORNOLAND GOT THE IDEA THAT MUSIC, IF YOU CAN EVEN CALL THAT CRAP MUSIC, HAS A PLACE IN A GOD DAMN PORNO MOVIE?!?! Stern asked the same question - a listener called in whose grandfather was in the porn business and said he had asked his grandfather the same question, Gramps said music was used during sex scenes to provide some privacy for the raincoaters of yesteryear who watched porn in theaters and peepshow arcades while they went about their bidness. This actually does make some sense - BUT IT'S NOW TWENTY FIVE YEARS ALMOST SINCE THE VCR REVOLUTION THAT TOOK PORN OUT OF THE THEATERS AND INTO OUR HOMES! Stern's take on it was that the men who make porn are gay, had no real interest in porn, don't actually get off on it or consume it personally so don't understand porn from a consumer's point of view. I think there is a sliver of truth there. My belief is that there are alot of people in the XXX movie industry who are under the impression, delusion actually, that they are 'filmmakers' - HELLOOOOOOO, REALITY ON LINE #1, PICK UP!!! YOU ARE NOT FILMMAKERS, YOU ARE PORNOGRAPHERS!! You are hacks, there is a reason you are making porn and not doing lunch with Edgar Bronfman at the Beverly Hills Hotel - YOU ARE NOT FILMMAKERS. Technology has given average people tools which lead them to believe that they are actual capable of making movies, the one tool you cannot buy is TALENT. If you aren't a pornographer, are so out of it or embarassed that you want to drown out the sounds of sex with 'music', get out of the way and make room for people who actually GET IT, understand what the purpose of porn is and what people want. People watch hardcore porn for one reason - the SEX - ANYTHING that takes away from the sex is wrong. Where does music belong? In that intro thing in many gonzo sex movies where we are introduced to the chick and the camera is checking her out as she struts around or dances. And if somebody was REALLY smart in gonzo they'd figure out a way how to mic the talent with hidden microphones that pick up everything, so acute you can hear hearts pounding. With today's home theater sound systems it could be awesome. It's obvious that most pornographers don't understand that our auditory systems are every bit as tuned in sexually as our visual systems are. [Link] |

| TonyC Comstock Films 2523 Posts 8/03 | Posted - Sep 16 2003 : 2:44PM The trouble is, at this stage, that she's got to have this funny like black wireless antenna hanging out of her asshole for it to work. That works fine if you're doing a pony or puppy scene (the antenna is easy to hide in the tail.) But it looks stupid/creepy otherwise. Ideally I'd like to get the thing down to where it was a little smaller overall, and the antenna was completely internal. I've I.D. the components needed, we just need a little more working capital to send the thing over to the silicone prototyper. T.C. [Link] |
