But "Dracula Exotica" because of its excellent production values, authentically creepy atmosphere, and, last but not least, the fact that Coppola stole much of the script for "Bram Stoker's Dracula." Click to expand I'm pretty sure those reincarnation/Vlad the Impaler/love story elements come from the short story Stoker wrote (Dracula's Guest), and an alternative chapter that got scrapped. I'm saying this off the top of my head though -- I'll check it and report back. [Link]

As Curtis says in a DVD interview, he ripped himself off in encouraging Richard Matheson to incorporate a reincarnation angle based on Barnabas Collins's great love for Josette, whom he discovers reborn centuries later as Maggie Evans." I've often thought that no actress in history has delivered as many lines on film as Samantha -- and I'm not limiting myself to porn. That being the The Dog Walker,The Catwoman,Fresh Meat 4 (My introduction to Czech Republic Goddess Silvia Saint) and Evil Angel Classics The Fashionistas and Ass Collectors.Now your talking to lad here that based his VHS collection on Hustlers Highest Rating.They had the ultimate critiques in Lonn M.Friend and Doug Oliver.I remember receiving my Hustler Magazine in the mail and reading what the reviewer had to say,just when you thought films were a thing of the past here comes Alex De Renzy with his remake of the classic Baby Face,in Baby Face 2.My point being The Golden Age Porn was from 1970-1985 with a film release coming out here and there up until 1987.Hustler did have to change the way the critiqued with the emergence of shot on video.Now getting back to Spitfire,Samantha Fox was absolutely gorgeous in that Cecil Howard underrated classic. Helmuth Richler Member 49 Posts 7/10	Posted - Oct 8 2010 : 3:50PM In addition to Wes making a cameo / editing / allegedly co-directing the flick, the haunting ballad David Hess composed for Craven's notorious Last House on The Left, 'Now You're On Your Own' gets re-used in a montage sequence in Angela, The Fireworks Woman as well. When interviewed in Inside Deep Throat, Wes cops to working behind the camera on skin flicks but doesn't volunteer any titles. If he had a hand in Angela.. I think he should be proud of his creative contribution to that excellent title. It's certainly far superior to much of his mainstream fare (Vampire in Brooklyn anybody?) over the years. It was good, but I really liked "Nothing to Hide" better. I guess the whole angle of banging the lonely housewife in 72 hours was lost on me. I preferred the more emotional story told in the sequel. I didn't grow up on classic porn nor have I watched enough to not trip out when I see someone like Sharon Kane so very very young. [Link]

A few of the titles haven't made the leap to DVD yet, and a couple never reached home video in any format, unfortunately. Trivia - I helped the late great Kiva Art Theatre in Scottsdale, Arizona, make the switch from 16mm to video projection Easter weekend, 1987. Amazingly, they were still able to get film rentals that late in the game. Pretty Peaches II was the last 16mm show to be properly projected there. I helped with the new installation as part of a bid to buy the old 16mm system and rescue some prints the owners had planned to throw away. I am not a high-toned adult film historian by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm glad I've held on to these things. Arizona/California summers and Massachusetts winters have definitely taken their toll on the prints (which are all 30/40 years old anyway) but NOTHING beats seeing this stuff on the big screen. Guys like Alex De Renzy and Robert McCallum were incredibly underrated cinematographers (no surprise RM shot for Orson Welles under his real name) and 16mm / 35mm prints, properly projected, are the best way to experience their work. And, since I see you're quite a Roberta Findlay enthusiast (IIRC, you posted that you worked for her), you should be happy to know that I have a pristine 16mm print of ANGEL ON FIRE and slightly beat up 35mm prints of THE TIFFANY MINX and MYSTIQUE (though I'd consider the latter much more the work of Roger Watkins' dark imagination than Findlay's workman-like direction. Though I've gotta say, MINX has a killer twist ending and some very fine acting. [Link]
