Porn Scout Deactivated User 3735 Posts 10/02	Posted - Mar 10 2019 : 8:56PM I'm not sure how to even describe this issue and I'm hoping that someone here can at least give me the right terminology so that I can research a fix. I have an Acer laptop going on two years old running Win10 with an NVidia GTX 1060 graphics card. What happens is that when I right click to access a menu and if I click on say, "Properties", the screen seems to capture that thing that I just did and keeps it floating on the screen until I do ctrl-alt-delete which refreshes the screen. Here is an example: In researching this, part of my problem is that I don't know what search terms to use. I don't know to describe what I'm looking at. Any help would be appreciated. [Link]

AngryPirate Senior Member 3210 Posts 8/17	Posted - Mar 11 2019 : 5:19PM Do you know if your laptop runs the GTX 1060 full-time or if it can run the integrated Intel HD 520/UHD 620 graphics as well to save on battery life? You can run dxdiag .exe to find out as the number of display tabs will confirm it. A single tab called Display referring only the GTX 1060 will be full-time but a Display 1 tab referring to the HD 520/UHD 620 and a Display 2 tab referring to the GTX 1060 indicates both running to give you the benefits of both. I'm only speculating but that looks like the Desktop Window Manager may have a conflict between NVIDIA and Intel graphics drivers and bringing up the Task Manager tends to trigger a refresh. It forces a prompt screen to appear that will allow you to to accept, decline or skip whatever it is. Then install Driver Booster. DO NOT install anything other than Driver Booster. https://filehippo.com/download_driver-booster-free/ At some point it will ask you to install other stuff but don't. Run the scan and it will find all of your outdated drivers etc. You will have to click (cant remember, I think it's Update Now) to update them. So that's good right? I updated my NVidia drivers a few days ago before posting here. But using your terminology, I believe I've found a solution here. Here is the blurb that explains: ... 1) Computer properties 2) Advanced System Settings 3) "Settings." in the Performance box...you will need to uncheck the box beside "Fade out menu items after clicking" Once unchecked hit ok, after a few seconds the screen will close and the ghosting will no longer appear.
