lensman Member 38 Posts 7/04	Posted - Dec 2 2004 : 8:53AM I don't know if this has been discussed before but I'd like to share these thoughts with you and also would like to know your opinion: Although the sex is of course the most important thing to me when watching porn, I noticed that the music of some porn movies is also pretty cool, sometimes even better than the sex ! Two examples/recommendations: - Sensual Exposure (Andrew Blake): this is absolutely the best music I've ever heard in a porn movie and one of the best in general. Especially the music of the scene "The Swimmer" with Debbie Diamond and Marc Wallace is fantastic: I like this "soft rock" style accompanied by the saxophone ! - Where The Boys Aren't #8 (Vivid): the music after the first sex scene when all the ladies are cruising out to the sea also has a wonderful melody. Since these two examples are from feature(?) movies, I don't know whether it also applies to gonzo movies, since gonzo movies focus on sex anyway. I would like to know whether music in porn movies is also important to you and, if yes, what your recommendations are. Besides, I would also like to know how the exact "procedure" is, i.e. e.g. is it like in the "normal" movies where the composer watches the scenes and then composes the score ? Can you buy the score of a porn movie separately, does it make sense and is it profitable ? Looking forward to your replies. [Link]

As for me the music is not as important but I do notice when I like a particular piece of music. A couple examples are in releases from Anarchy pictures where a real good instumental track is played while Ariana teases you in a scene from Shooters and also when Kami tease you in a scene from the dvd Stinkers. I like the trailers in Brandon Iron's AGSOI and kinda wished I could watch something like that for a longer period of time. Hard fuckin, suckin and cummin to rock-n-roll. Cool. I wouldn't watch this type of video exclusively, just as a change up. [Link]

Just like with mainstream movies, music adds an important element. As for my recommendations, two movies immediately come to mind: "Hidden Obsessions" and "The Fashionistas". And as someone already mentioned, there is a "Fashionistas" soundtrack album, though you have to buy the movie to get it. [Link]

I like music in features, but not in gonzo. Main titles or trailers should have music, but not the scenes. Vintage porn soundtracks are available online, as are ones like Russ Meyers movies. [Link]

I was a big fan of the early volumes of Elegant Angel's Dr. Fellatio series. The music for the first 5 or 6 was great. [Link]

Jenna Haze vs Krystal Steal's DVD Menu song is pretty good. Gina Lynn's darkside recieved an AVN Nomination for for best music as well. One of my favorite songs is from Jenna's Revenge from the scene between Jenna and Brad Armstrong that takes place on the black hummer. Pure, classy music. [Link]

I think Brandon said that Skeeter chose it. It's a deep, throbbing remix of L'Amour Est Un Oiseau Rebelle ( Love Is A Rebellious Bird from the opera Carmen )and is perfect for the scene. I don't like music DURING scene unless the scene actually calls for it. Much prefer to hear the actos talk dirty ! [Link]

I had a membership at CumOnHerFace.com for a while, and for a lot of their shoots they use the same stock background music. Some of it is annoying as hell, but there's this one recurring track that is pure schmaltz seventies, and it really fits the site. Something about the cheapo keyboards and sleazy guitar just oozes messy group sex. [Link]

As far as new stuff goes, most of it falls into two shitty catagories: cookie cutter muzak with a vaguely "house" feel, or bad, fratboy Oi. The glaring exception is Eon McKai's shit. "Art School Sluts" was the first porn soundtrack I've heard in years that sounded like it was produced by anyone under the age of 50... all stuttering electro and Jungle. "A.S.S" is one of the few movies where the music actually adds to the action and anticipation of the fucking and sucking that is about to transpire. [Link]

Always the same silly tunes in those compilations... even if they're from different studios! Maybe I'd change my mind if I got one with better music but I'm not so sure about that.
