Greg Lansky who directs teen bimbos in films that have as much originality as the back of a cereal box thinks he can insult a princess of the adult industry.Raylene is a true beauty and she worked hard for Stephanie Swift when she had cancer.

Needless to say I completely disagree with this take on Raylene. Her return to porn was a big time Whoah moment for me. I had liked her before but as so many did lost touch with her as she left the industry the first time. But that first title back with Vince was one I really enjoyed and several since then have just made me appreciate Raylene's talents so much more than I did the first time. I hope to see much more with Raylene but certainly she should do what makes her happiest so far as homelife with her family which is far more important than making porno.

Wow. A few things I want to mention that might sound rude. First of all I had no idea she was 24 when she retired and is only 34 now. I'da always assumed she was older. Not to say she looks old or rough but I thought she was around the same age as Janine, Lisa Ann, Chasey and the other girls at VIVID during her time there.
Secondly, I'm always shocked that some pornstars have such thin skins when it comes to comments like this. I always asummed they constantly run into and deal with people who put down what they do and rude fans and over time develope a thick skin to insults. Perhaps after having so many fans tell you how great you are all the time it makes the negative stuff seem unnatural and mean.
Lastly, I just don't get why she's taking it so hard. Clearly, she has fans who like her and support her. She still gets work. And honestly, she must see what the most of the girls in the biz right now look like and must be able to see that she carries a few extra pounds than they do. But that's not a bad thing because there's a large segment of the audience who like fuller figure women. It's too bad she works so hard to get the weight off and still can't get down to a size that pleases eveyone but SO WHAT?! Just keep doing what you're doing and work for the people who are fine with how you look.

I was so happy when Raylene decided to come back! Not that I didn't enjoy her performances during her first run in the industry but IMHO, I think her performances during her comeback are so much better!
You rock, Raylene!

She's always been a personal fave. Shame she feels insulted/bullied into her (semi) retirement.
Dip-shits who casually call her "fat", would more than likely kill to fuck her if she gave them a second look in real life.

Based on the photos in that article, Raylene looks better now than she did during her first run. She is stunningly beautiful. Whoever said she was "fat" either needs his vision checked or is remarkably stupid.

Sounds to me like Raylene having unrealistic expectations regarding her comeback, plus Cindi Loftus being a drama queen.

Sad story.
Everyone has a right to be treated respectfully on the job, and in the industry they work in. And being in porn doesn't change that.
I can't judge the validity of Raylene's (and Cindi's) claims. But, if Raylene chooses to walk away from the industry I respect her decision.

I kind of have to lean to this point also. She says it herself, her bookings have been slow since January. Chances are, sales aren't that great. Maybe the guy was a douche to her, but it's called Show Business, not Show Friendship. As far as appearances are concerned, the performers are required to get naked, and it's said nakedness that helps sell the product. I reviewed Raylene's Return on this site awhile ago and wasn't impressed.
Some comments from the review were:
did porn miss Raylene? Are we better off now that she’s here? To know those questions, you’d really have to be a Raylene fan. Raylene, truth be told, never caught my eye the first time around, so I figured I give her a shot the second time. The verdict is: I’m still not missing anything, and unless you truly are a fan, you can skip right by this disk.
Raylene has some ugly ink on her, sports an above the clit muff, and keeps her bra on throughout the scene. Both guys dump their liquid loads of love on Raylene’s tightly sealed mouth.
Raylene keeps her bra on, so something must be going on with her tits.
Overall, there is nothing special about the three sex scenes. She tolerates the penis pudding on her face as this is her cumback feature, but you can see she really isn’t a facial fan. Vouyer and Co. also try to hide the MILF aspect of Raylene, but she is definitely showing her age.
Is it worth it? You really have to be a fan of Raylene to buy this.

Raylene is awesome in my opinion...I had the privilege to meet her at this year's AEE and I was astounded at how much better looking in person she is...and in normal clothes like jeans and a long sleeve top she looked simply stunning...I also never noticed before then that she has the sexiest ears I've ever seen...When I first saw her years ago in movies the one thought I had was that she had gotten a bad boob job which I thought was unfortunate...but seeing her in person really was a treat and I couldn't believe she was being hired in MILF movies since she didn't look nearly that old...I wish her all the best in whatever she decides to do...

Times are tough and the directors out there are going to be pickier about who they cast. She's competeing against younger girls, girls who haven't had kids and girls who are just in better shape than she is. I don't think she has the level of popularity of a Lisa Ann, Julia Ann or Francesca Le where her being in the movie is going to boost the sales in a major way so people will look at her with a more critical eye. She is carrying a bit more weight than a lot of other girls out there. Maybe the people who made comments to her about it should've used more tact but the end result is the same...They don't want to use her because she's carrying more weight and they can get someone thinner or think is a bigger draw. Her looks is her selling point. If her looks start to suffer, so will her career. It's a messed up situation but it's something she was aware of when she chose to get into this line of work.

This really is appalling. I think Raylene has looked absolutely perfect since her return. I really hate to see her or anyone treated with such disrespect.
Has anyone here ever purchased a video or a website subscription because Greg Lansky was involved? I think not. Yet we drop lots of dollars for Raylene. I think that should settle the issue over who is in the right here pretty quickly. No one cares about this douchebag but the fact that we've all come to this thread to defend Raylene, who looks absolutely gorgeous btw, shows that this treatment of talent is unacceptable. Raylene literally is the one putting her body on the line here and she deserves nothing but respect from her fans and the industry.
It's not about having thin skin, it's about being treated decently.

I agree with everything you say. I'm not saying the guy isn't an asshole. I'm saying I don't get why Raylene was so upset to the point of quitting because of this asshole. I'm sure porn has plenty of jerks working in it and I'm sure it's no secret. It just seems strange to me that Raylene seems to be doing okay with most of if not all the major directors in the biz but lets the comments from a guy so low on the totem pole upset her to the point of wanting to quit. It also seems strange that she is so bothered by the weight comments when see clearly knows what the deal is in porn where looks are so important.

It's no secret that many girls are very insecure about their looks. Ego's a fragile thing and often linked with feelings of self worth (whether warranted or not).
Call a certain number of girls fat, it really effects them. Raylene seems to be of that sensibility.

I think Raylene is fantastic, and I've been so thrilled for her that she's been drug-free for such a long time. She really seemed to be in such a happy place when she came out of retirement.
Some people are assholes, and when it's people in your own industry, sometimes that is kind of hard to take.
If Raylene came out of retirement for the reason she stated (sexual excitement at the right time in her life with her new husband), then if she's getting too much grief to make it worth it for her, I can definitely understand if she stops actively seeking out work.
The industry is VERY different from when Raylene was a Vivid girl. It's not as fun, and with her being older now (and sober), she doesn't have being naive or intoxicated to numb the negativity.
Sometimes when you're a mom and you're happy with the rest of your life, going to a job where other people make the job feel miserable just isn't worth it. No matter what she chooses, I wish her only the best.

Very well said, Tricia. I really liked what I've seen from Raylene's comeback. I have to give her a lot of credit for having the strength to come back, and possible even more the strength to say screw this, it isn't worth it and walking away again.

It sucks that Raylene feels bad and is going to semi retire, just because some dick wad decided to open his mouth and flood the world with his nitwitted opinions. Raylene has been a personal favorite of mine the last 10 years, since the first movie I ever saw with her in it. I have also enjoyed her comeback, and she has only gotten sexier. I hope she realizes that she has TONS of fans behind her and I for one, is hoping she will do more scenes.
And this guy Greg Lansky douche is an absolute waste of space....IMO of course

How is a conversation between an agent and a director "flooding the world"? The only reason "the world" knows about this is because of Raylene and Cindi, as far as I can see.

just when I thought the teen trend might finally be dying :(

It does sound to be like there's been a bit of an injury to the ego here.
I mean, I was personally a little disappointed in the comeback, but certainly not because of her weight.
It's too bad.

Just adding my disgust that a gorgeous woman such as Raylene has to be disrespected in such a manner.
I was very shocked and happy when I found she was coming back to the biz and to see her treated in this manner is very disheartening.

I have been friends with Raylene from the beginning of her career. I know her on a personal level. She has always been, and still is now, very beautiful, sweet and kind.
This should be a lesson to those who come here and sling shit about the girls. They have feelings, they are people too.
If you don't have something nice to say, shut the fuck up. No one really cares about your negative opinions.
This woman is clearly hurt by things that were said, and rightly so. She is a professional and refuses to name names.
That makes her a much bigger person.
I love you always SB, you are a class act, and no matter what any one says, you are very beautiful on the inside as well as the outside.

I agree that Raylene is sexier than ever. To me she is one of the most beautiful stars I have seen. The reason I don't purchase her films are because the bra wearing through out scenes and the closed mouth for money shot time. As for her weight she is perfect. Even if she gained a few she'd still be perfect. She just doesn't seem into the sex.

If she gets this "riled up" just because a director called a porn chick fat, then she's a lot more hypersensitive than she gives herself credit for.
+1
If we were to ask Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, or Heidi Klum if they have ever been attacked by their colleagues in the entertainment industry because of their looks, I have no doubt that they would tell you it has happened numerous times. I once worked backstage at a modeling show with professional models who were some of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. From that, I got to see firsthand how abrupt these people in the industry are to each other. If you're looking for courtesy, then a career in mainstream modeling may not be for you.
Thus, it perplexes me that people here are somehow surprised that an industry like porn, which is already proscribed by society, will have people who are just as brusque as those in the mainstream entertainment sector. If the guy thinks she's fat, then he just thinks she's fat. So what! What else is he supposed to say? I doubt polite terms like "pleasantly plump" are in the vernacular of most straight pornographers. Just because some porn fanboys and fangirls like to kiss the asses of their favorite pornstars doesn't mean that everyone else will.
I like Greg Lansky's movies. If I'm not mistaken, I think he used to credited as co-director with Mike Adriano for a lot of the movies produced by NewSensations/DigitalSin. Those are some of my favorite movies. From what I've seen, he's a good director.
I'm also not naive enough to believe that such behavior is anywhere near uncommon in porn. I have no doubt it happens all the time, which makes the shock I'm reading here even more unbelievable. I've also never been a Raylene fan. Maybe this is why I have no problem taking this article as overreactionary nonsense.

I have to say that this really is the side of the adult industry that I can't stand at times. What happened to the "us against the mainstream world" mentally. Well it is nice to see industry folks like Tricia and Howard here for her support, and well as reviewers like Astroknight and Bono-ONE. Being politically-incorrect doesn't necessarily mean being an asshole either, which is something I wish more adult types understood.

I agree with you. Sure, no girl wants to be called fat and I'm sure it can be hurtful but I thought this type of thing happens all the time in porn. Aren't girls being constantly told to lose weight, get a boobjob, you're not the type of girl we hire, you're too dark skinned, too old, etc., etc..? Isn't porn filled with rejection and putdowns why you were rejected? Don't girls hear this type of stuff all the time and just move on? I've always thought this type of stuff was just one of the things you deal with in porn. With all the occupational hazards in porn this can't be high on the list of things that make girls leave the porn biz.

Reading the Tweets of a lot of porn gals, I'm amazed they can even work up the capacity to get out of their apartments every morning for fear the breeze might rub them the wrong way and spark an emotional meltdown. I am perplexed as to why these people work in porn. This isn't really a comment on the topic, though .. just something I've noticed.

First.
If your ego or sense of self is AT ALL influenced by a pornographer you got problems.
Second.
Many of these girls start off young and very incredible and go and get married have kids and come back just looking incredible instead of
"very incredible"....a few names ...Ice La Fox...Mariah Milano,ect....these woman look human now before they were just TOO good looking.
Third.
Women having curves is VERY in vogue right now so I dont know what this director(I know who he is and he has shot thicker girls before but I digress) is sniffing(well actually I do.
I saw Raylene in a Vince Voyuer movie when she came back and for some one so beautiful to be having self esteem issues over her appearance is just sad.

IMO, bad analogy.
There is a difference between being flat out rude to someone and having the right to make movies.
What is the upside to Greg making that or any rude comment about someone?
The down side for him is that there is a thread saying what he said, the other girls, even if it is one, read it, spread the word he is disrespectful, and now he has a hard time getting good talent.
This is a very small community, the word spreads like a wildfire.
We see a lot of girls in a week, we don't tell the ones we don't use that they are fat, or homely, too thin, wrong color hair, bad boobs, we just say thank you for taking the time to come in.

Not in the mind of a censor who's looking for a way in.
I didn't say I agreed with him. I think he's a jackass if he said that. And I think she absolutely did the right thing by outing him. If everyone heard about it every time it happens, guys like him wouldn't be that much of a problem. Of course he shouldn't have said it but here's the thing. Let them say it and let the girl get pissed off and tell the world what assholes they are. This is how freedom works. Then people can decide whether or not they want to buy porn from a guy who treats people that way.
As for me, I had no idea who this guy was. Never heard of him. But if I knew something I was going to buy was made by him now, I wouldn't buy it.
Well, you have manners. As much as it bothers me when someone is just a flat out jerk, having bad manners isn't a crime (yet) and I really kind of shiver to think what kind of a world it would be if it was.
I was watching a clip earlier today and the camera guy in the background was just an unbelievable prick. The girl couldn't say or do anything without him making some rude comment. Ruined the whole clip. I had to turn it off. People who are turned off by this don't want anything to do with it.
I'm just saying it's a delicate thing. The line between some guy's right to be a douche and your right to make smut is a lot finer than you think. She had the right to walk and let everyone know what he was really like.

No one is trying to censor him. I think they are just saying it is not necessary to be a dick.
Raylene did not out him, a writer did who was doing an interview with Raylene.
Raylene refused to mention any names or retort in any way.
She just said it was hurtful to her when she hears comments like that.
You are correct, having bad manners or being an idiot is not a crime, if it was the world would be a jail.
Again I am not advocating censorship, if you want to be an asshole, you most certainly have a right to be one.
I am just saying, as a person who has been an asshole and made a huge effort to stop being an asshole, being nice, respectful and kind to people, for me, seems to bring me more peace of mind, it makes me feel better to treat people the right way, the way I would like to be treated.
It's not really going out of my way to say please and thank you, it doesn't take any extra effort on my part to be respectful, and I have learned not to have expectations of others to do the same, it is just nice when they do. Those people end up being my friend, I try not to be around rude, disrespectful, unkind people.
For me, it makes life just a little bit more pleasant.

I really am scratching my head to find a good reason for you to repost a review you already posted, in which you made similar comments to the one that precipitated this thread. What exactly did you hope to accomplish by repeating negative comments about Raylene's appearance? To anyone that gave a rat's ass about what you thought about her, they probably saw your review already. If Raylene were to read this thread, do you think you did her a solid by nitpicking her body features?

Of course it isn't. And I'm glad people are saying it. I just wish people were a little more careful to affirm his right to say it despite the fact that it's a dickish thing to say.
Whatever. It wouldn't matter to me if she did. She should have. I've always said the girls should put the knowledge out there and let the people vote with their wallets. As far as I'm concerned, every girl who has a problem like this should take it straight to the people and let these guys know that while they have a right to be a dick, they're not going to do it without people knowing it.
She shouldn't have been reluctant to do it. You see by reading this thread that there are people who care. Every time I've said in the past that porn performers who feel they've been mistreated or wronged in some way should take it to the people, someone has told me they're afraid of being blacklisted or something. I don't think any decent directors are going to hold this against her or not want to shoot her because of it. Why wouldn't they? They don't have anything to worry about if they're OK people.
Well, I guess I just worry that such sentiments can easily become official policy when they become too emotional. There are people who are crazy enough to want to make being PC all the time and everywhere a legal requirement rather than a choice. That's what concerns me. I would never say that someone is too fat to work for me unless they demanded a reason why not and then I would try to be as diplomatic about it as possible. But of course, that's still far from any guarantee they wouldn't be hurt by it. Unfortunately, if the guy doesn't want to shoot bigger girls, he shouldn't have to. Maybe he should have been more sensitive but how do you tell someone something like that in a nice way?
