does anybody else have this? especially when i was a teenager after I would masturbate I would feel super guilty and be like i can never do this again. But I always ended up doing it again cause the sex drive is hard to put down.

but even now, in my thirties, sometimes i feel guilty after cumming. Like i shouldn't have done it.

any porn stars out there, how do you feel after cumming? any guilt? no big deal? you guys seem to be able to cum multiple times a day and be fine with it.

any thoughts or comments I welcome.

Not the faintest trace of guilt. Ever.

Thank you, everyone who didn't lie to me about sex.

No guilt here. Are you perhaps Catholic or a WASP?

no religious affiliation. Only thing i got in my past is a father who discouraged masturbation etc. I guess it somehow rubs off. I just wondered if this is specific to some me or more universal to guys in general.

I've read a fair share of sexuality textbooks and manuals and I've never heard that guilt after ejaculation was a normal occurrence for an adult American male.

It's probably something specific to you, not to the general male populace here in America.

Then again, I'm not a sexologist, psychologist, or psychiatrist.

<broken record>
You should be cautious about soliciting medical advice (physical or mental) over the Internet, especially in an anonymous forum such as ADT.

Good luck.

Well, no matter way, you're not going to get a statistically significant sample size, even of registered ADT users.

At least on the Internet, there will probably be someone out there that will answer yes or no to the question "Does anyone out there to [insert activity]?" whether the activity is abnormal or not.

If a hundred people read the thread, two people says, "yes, that happens to me", one says "no", and three others post without responding, does that make it normal? No, because the survey methodology is defective.

It's one thing to ask something like "Do you like Camaros?" It's something else to ask about mental health conditions.

But then again, the Internet is full of silly health questions and survey responses. The 'net is a very, very dangerous place to get health questions answered, even just to satisfy your curiosity.

Good luck anyhow.

I don't know if this is related or not, but I'm glad this question was posed, as it gives me opportunity to ask something I've wanted to for some while now.

My current sexual partner seems to be experiencing some extremely powerful orgasms. While it did gratify me when she mentioned her current orgasms are the strongest she's ever had, it concerns me that lately she cries while having these exceptionally powerful orgasms.

She maintains that she is not sad and that it is just a (new0 function of her new orgasms, and I've noticed her trying to hide that she is, in fact, doing this.

Has anyone else ever had the same thing happen to them? How do you think I should respond to this?

driven, yes guilt (also experienced as shame) is a common reaction. assuming you're american, we've grown up in a very prude, shameful society. look at the horror a boob on tv caused. i wouldn't say it's universal but i do know lots of people who've experienced this.

JAG, i know a lot of women who have cried after/with orgasm, myself included.

i have to say that i completely disagree with cv on soliciting other people's experiences on the web. without internet message boards i never would have diagnosed a medical condition i have (that ten years of different doctors didn't diagnose) without reading about other women experiencing the same thing. yes, my internet diagnosis has been confirmed by a specialist (now there was a waste of a few thousand dollars.)

Steph, I'm glad things worked out for you. I think you are lucky and your situation is more the exception, rather than the rule.

Generally speaking, I think the old adage, "The person who diagnoses himself has an idiot for a doctor" still holds largely true.

You have to be very, very careful of where you solicit medical advice from the Internet. If you select your sources very cautious, cross reference and check various findings, yes, it could result in a self-diagnosis that is accurate.

However, that's not what happens in 99% of all Internet health queries.

Oh well, caveat emptor for all those who solicit medical advice online.

I don't want to derail driven's thread, but soliciting experiences and medical advice aren't the same.

You know, I must have been tired when I responded initially because I see now that I misread the post.

Yes driven, many people, due to their upbringing are uncomfortable with their sexuality and yes, these feelings can linger throughout their lives. This condition is almost always touched on by every single sexuality textbook.

Sex counseling may help you rid yourself of these negative thoughts. There are many books that are supposed to help people develop a sex-positive attitude, but for some folks, a professional's intervention may be necessary.

I will leave my original responses intact since I still believe that self-diagnosis of medical conditions (physical or mental) is very dangerous.

Good luck.

No guilt. But some disgust at the mess or embarassement at something I tried that seemed cool at the time but seemed ridiculous after the fact...

Well, I guess this just goes to my obvious lack of sexual experience, I guess. Hell, I'm only forty, LOL!?!

Thanks for the input, Steph. I'm happy to hear about your positive experience seeking other people's experiences. I agree that any gathering of a large group of people from different areas, sects, religion, etc. should be an excellent source with which to solicit views, opinions, experiences, etc.

Steph, I never expected such a response....can you perhaps explain a little, I'm still unsure of what to do or how to feel about the situation and it bothers me to see her cry...

When you think about it, ADT is precisely the right place to pose such questions!
Where else will you find people who will talk honestly with you about sex, have been where you are (or some related issue), love stroking and don't mind discussing the fact that they enjoy masturbating to pornography in a public forum :)

EVERYBODY masturbates (except those that lie about not masturbating... or who, sadly, can no longer do it any longer).
So, while I won't dare use the word "normal" here and risk getting flamed, let's just say it is typical human behavior. Take it from someone who's probably a lot older than you... masturbating never hurt anyone :)

And, speaking solely for myself, why shouldn't a lonely socially-inept freak like me enjoy jacking-off and getting some sort of sexual release that I'm never going to get otherwise?

Bottom line: don't beat-up on yourself for beating-off.
Enjoy :)

I don't regularly feel guilty about anything. I think guilt is a waste of time. Masturbation is good for you, enjoy your body while you're healthy.

I agree with Steph about the power of the net regarding sharing of personal stories that can lead to realisations in your own life and sure, if they are medically related you need to follow up appropriately.

JAGnLA wrote

Men hate to see women cry don't they? They don't know what to do. J in this case I think you should feel elated that you've brought your partner such pleasure. I often cry at orgasm, I just get overwhelmed with emotion, bliss tears if you like. Sometimes after an especially powerful climax or series of, I feel deeply moved, almost other worldly. My advice for what it's worth, is just make the most of a tender moment with a lots of hugs until she returns to Earth. Sometimes being overwhelmed by emotion and allowing ourselves to be "out of control" can make a woman feel a little vulnerable, welcome her back graciously, let her get her breath...then do whatever comes naturally.

I've never once felt guilty about having an orgasm. Sometimes I think I should be out meeting real women. But then I think, "what's the matter, I'm not good enough for myself?"

Loraine: such great perspective! Thank you so much for your thoughts...I guess I am similar to many men in that I feel the need to do something to somehow fix every situation and do not like the impotence of idly watching a loved one cry. Your suggestions will probably assist both of us - thanks again!

Sometimes when I masturbate I get a strange feeling soon after ejaculating. I'm not sure guilt is the right word to describe it, though; it's more like a strong disinterest in sex (if that makes any sense). It only lasts for a couple of minutes at the most.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I have indeed experienced a total disinterest in sex after ejaculation. It happens from time to time and only lasts for a few minutes. I've become repulsed by own semen. It's an extremely brief, but very odd feeling that only occurs once in a while.

Now, on to the thread topic at hand. I masturbate very frequently. I'm not guilty about it. I enjoy my body from head to toe. That said, I do all I can to maximize my pleasure during masturbatory sessions. Why feel guilty about something that is so natural, so pleasurable? It's a natural phenonomen.
Period.

If I couldn't masturbate, I'd go insane.

I used to feel guilty before, during and after masturbation. I don't often anymore, but I do still think there's a proper time and place for it. I resist the urge if it strikes me at an inappropriate time or place.

The only time I feel true guilt now is when I masturbate rather than have sex with my husband. Sometimes I just want to "scratch the itch" and not be bothered with the whole production of reciprocal sex. I can knock out a satisfying orgasm in under 5 minutes if left alone. If I wake him, it's a much longer affair requiring much more physical, mental and emotional effort on my part. At those times, I usually sneak into another room with BOB, quickly bring myself to climax, then return to his company. This is when I feel guilty, because I could have included him, but I didn't want to.

I feel that guilt you talk about after I sober up. But NEVER after cumming. After cumming I just want to cum again.

All this, and Carpal Tunnel too!

I do alot. Sometimes I will be shopping for DVD's, and will jack off to the screenshots. After that I have no desire to purchase the DVD and close out the window. Then a few hours later I'll get the urge to buy it again.

Very well said, Loraine. Masturbation is good for you, it's a natural part of being human and people should enjoy it while they are still healthy.

I experiance exactly the same feeling as Icetrance and Gunth describe i just lose total intrest after cuming, if i am watching a dvd, no matter how hot or good it is, as soon as i have cum i want to turn it off, as i feel totally turned off to. Even with girlfriends as soon as i have cum i lose intrest and just want to almost get away from them, but 10 mins later i am fine and i can't understand why i felt the way i did.
I did read somewhere that it is to do with the amount on chemicals released by the brain at the moment of climax.

I only feel guilty because I'd die to light a cigarette. Otherwise, disinterest in sex, sure, the same way you're disinterested in food after you've eaten a good meal or disinterest in cigarettes after you've just smoked one (no, I'm NOT obsessing). What I inevitably feel like after ejaculating is very tired. Just leave me alone, I just wanna doze. And I certainly don't want to talk.

I experience something like this too, but its not a guilt thing that should be associated with actual guilt or shame, but a hormonal/chemical change in your brain. It may FEEL like guilt, but its the same thing that others have described here that is completely losing interest in sex/porn/etc directly after cumming. Then after a little while it comes back.

This is normal! So dont be too concerned :)

yea i know what your talking about i used to feel guilty espically if i got off realy fast and my girl didnt get off at all, its very embarresing getting up and shes just laying there also, its like "i failed to please her" but i got used to it and i dont feel guilt anymore, cause i can tear girls apart like nothing. I actually learnt alot of sex tips from www.hardornot.com and then taught my girfriend my knowledge and now we can time it so we both cum together so there is no guilt anywhere.

Just remember sex is ment ro be fun and not to feel bad after. Enjoy sex and if you finish early whip out thse sex toys lol.

I don't feel guilty about masturbating, although I do feel, not really guilty, but more embarressed or ashamed of the things I think while masterbating. I often think, gee whiz? Am I normal?

I don't get the guilt...

But my interest in sex decreases by a little amount. Things like "this cum is so messy" when I would normally just have loved to play with it and keep stroking etc... And I haven't been offered a cum-kiss by a girl, but I would imagine that could be a problem too... Continuing to have slow sex after getting my breath back is no problem though...

Guess it varies, luckily I just get this minor decrease in sexual interest.
