Isn't there a certain level that guys reach (after working several years and establishing yourself as a good performer) where they can actually choose the hot girl they want to work with? Because popularity gives the woman power, which can go to her head and cause her to mistreat other people. It's possible for a guy to lose his attraction for a hot woman, just because she didn't treat him well. This kind of thing happens in real life in real relationships, when people get divorced, and it probably happens in porn too. Which means that the male porn star might need to perform with a woman who didn't treat him well, just because she is the one whom viewers want to see. They aren't having sex just for themselves. They are having sex for their audience. Which means that they need to consider the wishes of their audience and not just their own wishes. [Link]

I guess it is more like veto power than full control. He might not select every girl, but he essentially gets to choose. [Link]

I misunderstood and thought you wanted info on if male performers called any of the shots when they WEREN'T directing. Anyway, Yes, when he directs he makes the decisions. [Link]

Manuel etc. for EA will choose the girls that are in it as well as the male talent, if he chooses someone other than himself. [Link]
