My computer's been giving me fits when rebooting--it hangs often. I ran CHECKDISK /F but that doesn't seem to help. No viruses or malware on my scans. I'm running XP SP2. I think it's the hard drive. Can anyone suggest a good hard drive diagnostics utility? Or suggest some other likely cause? Just about all the hardware on this beast is new (less than 6 months old) so I shouldn't be having these problems, IMO. TIA [Link] |

(2) Your CMOS battery could be failing. If your computer is more than three years old, I would rule this out before looking for difficult reasons/solutions.
