From my perspective, it looks like the vast majority of porn videos being produced nowadays feature anal. However, I realize that I am a biased source. I've always wondered how common, and dominant, anal sex has become in porn. Here are a few questions for those of you who are more knowledgeable than me. 1) What is the history of anal? When did it first break on to the "scene" in a big way? And has it constantly become more and more popular since then? Or does it go in fits and starts? 2) What percentage of porn movies produced today feature anal sex in at least 1 scene? 3) Is this percentage concentrated in a specific area (or niche) of porn? (high budget, low budget, gonzo, plotted, a specific geographic area, etc.)? 4) Is this percentage of videos with anal still rising each year or has it leveled off recently? 5) What percentage of women performers are willing to do anal scenes? 6) What is the price spread between a generic anal and generic non-anal scene? What is the price-spread between basic anal and more extreme forms of anal like Ass to Mouth? 7) Based on this spread, to be a successful long-term female performer in todays business, do you need to be willing to perform anal? 8) Look into your crystal ball. What does the future hold in store? Will the popularity keep rising or hit a plateau or go down? 9) Has the popularity of anal in porn caused anal sex to become more common amoung couples in the USA? Are there any studies proving this one way or another? Are anal porn watchers more likely to have anal sex in real life? 10) Finally, a more general question. Why did anal become so big when it did? And why is it so popular right now? What's the attraction of it? I ask this question as someone who loves it myself, but I've never really quite understood why I like anal sex so much. Is the turn-on physical, psychological, or just being different/pushing boundaries? I can't really tell. What do you think? At any rate, this is a lot of questions, so feel free to answer only the one(s) that you know the answer to or have an opinion on. Thanks so much for you insight.
