Ok help me here I used moviemonster and hotmovies.com and i need to know - has porn been sucking lately? I feel like there is way less new content being uploaded. All hotmovies seems to upload is compilations of 5 year old porn movies and like old 80s and 90s porn. Is something up or has anyone else noticed this or is hotmovies.com just crap?

No. Porn is in its Golden Age. I know that sounds ridiculous, but it is. The amount of seriously superhot girls and women who do porn now is mindboggling, and I have been an avid pornhound since 1991. Every day I discover a new pornstar who seems to be hotter than the last. I mean, don't get me wrong, porn distribution and the companies that make porn are going through something totally apocalyptic right now, but that has had no effect on the quality of females in porn. No one is making any money, but the numbers don't lie: everyone is jizzing their brains out. Porn is dead; long live porn.

^I have to disagree with you only because porn is not the powerhouse it was a few years ago. Although you may be discovering all these new girls. How many are actually new to the industry and not new to you? Then even if they are all new to the industry. How many will shoot only a couple of scenes and/or still be in the industry in 6 monmths?
I much prefer porn made in the 70's and 80's but if I had to pick a decade then the 90's would probably be the one simply because there were so many girls shooting porn and so many studios willing to hire them that the decade was truly the golden age of porn.

Well, I guess that ends the discussion. Porn sucks. It was better a long time ago.

There simply isn't as much new content being produced in the last couple of years as there was a few years earlier. There's a lot of new companies popping up that only showcase old content from other studios. Plus some studios are doing the same and repacking old material. Overall, while sales might be down for porn companies I think things aren't so bad for consumers. I think the studios putting out new content have a stronger line-up of girls and do less "filler" stuff. I don't mind seeing some of the older content pop up again because I missed it the first time and the compilations have a better line-up of talent (even though it's not new). There isn't as much new talent entering porn these days but the ones that make it seem to be the best of the best and are able to get more attention. Lastly, the price of porn (DVDs in particular) is the lowest we've ever seen. I don't mind buying new DVDs these days because the price on even the more traditonally higher priced stuff is pretty reasonable.
I personally don't have a problem with the state of porn today from a consumer standpoint. Fo the guys who watch tons of stuff and must see the newest stuff and talent and have seen all the old stuff I imagine they aren't as content.

I think many porn fans need to see the latest porn action made by ladies who are still in the business of making porn movies. Because it's hard for most men to masturbate about a pretty lady from the past, who no longer exists in present reality.
Masturbation is the nature's way of practice and preparation to bang the pretty lady you like. It makes you ready to get it up and bang the lady, when you get an opportunity to be with her.
Masturbation is designed to be forward-looking, because it's a natural behavior that has a purpose to fulfill. It's not something only people choose to do. Many animals do it too. It's an old biological behavior that probably has existed among people, even before people became people.
It's pretty hard to subvert your biology and fantasize about a pretty lady who no longer exists now and cannot exist in the future. Masturbation is necessarily forward-looking. It has to be about a real lady, who is so slutty and ready, that she might do it with you too, if she happens to be with you.

Porn is not dying. Man will always want to see hot girls do dirty things. Now, the way we get our porn and even HOW we use our porn will change in the very near future but it ain't going away.

The vast majority of casual porn fans could care less about if the girl is still active in the business. Why should they? They just want to see a pretty girl on screen having sex. There are plenty of girls long gone from porn I still like to watch and some of them more than the girls still performing today.

Exactly. DVD sales may be down and the people in the porn biz might not be making as much as they once did but it's not because people are watching less porn. There's going to be a learning curve and adjustment period from porn producers (and fans) on how to fully capitalize on the new tech and viewing options.

I think there's less new product coming out but the new stuff that's coming has stronger cast lists with more top girls in a new release than before. I think most of of the 3rd tier girls have gone and has left the top girls and the best of the second stringers. For me there's stuff coming out now that I would like to buy/see than when there was a lot more new product coming out bcause more of today's movies have an what I consider a much stronger cast these days.

+1 I actually like porn from the period 2000-2010 better than I like porn from the last two years. Considering that I can get the older stuff cheaper, why bother with the newer stuff that I don't even like as much.

porn HAS improved. alot of story lines that one would fast forward through has been cut out, anal is more common, gaping, creampies, camera angles have all improved over the years. before you had to wait till your local video store got in new releases and hope that you liked what was in but now with the internet you can follow specific actresses to find out what films their in then watch their scenes only (if you like) vs buying or renting a tape for one scene

The adult industry is going through a transition, it is not at all dying and will never die. Sex sells whether you like it or not.
What I see is less and less content coming out on DVD. Instead we are seeing websites pop up that offer streaming and often downloading of content which is legal to own. I prefer to pay a reasonable fee of roughly $25 and get access to hundreds of scenes instead of paying a DVD rental company and getting limited content.
I think the big name Adult DVD companies like SugarDVD, BushDVD and XRentDVD are going to have to change and become more competitive with UNLIMITED ACCESS on-line companies because the fees that some of these DVD rental companies are charging to download content is ridiculously high.
Why would I want to spend $20 to download to own a film from SugarDVD when I can download hundreds of scenes if I sign up at one of the numerous on-line websites?

2000-2010 is without question th best 10 year era of porn. Porn right now is lame and gimmicky. In the early to mid-2000's it was uncommon to see new porn starlets who didn't do anal. Now it's all lame boring gimmick sex, with girls not nearly attractive as 10 years ago.
The best porn now is Euro/Russian porn that is just raw hot anal sex with young and attractive women.

The problem is that when the money goes away, so does the incentive. I mean, yeah. If you look on sites like Flickr, you will see lots of hot pics made by amateurs. And they mainly do it because they enjoy it but therein lies the problem. They mainly do what they enjoy. They don't typically take requests. It's free but they don't really care if it doesn't turn you on.

^ I understand what you are trying to say but I don't think the money will go away. The money will just to have to come through other revenue streams and devices; and some of those streams and devices haven't even been created yet.
People (mostly men) will always be willing to pay for porn. It's just the delivery system of how we will get and use our porn is going to change.

^ I agree. Luckily there will always be an audience who does the right thing and pay for the porn, movies, music, books, etc., thay want to enjoy. It's just a matter of making it easy and letting them know where and how to get that content. Plus, getting them to try new ways of getting that content instead of sticking to the old ways.

Isn't that the same of most mainstream porn? There are studios/companies that do their thing and if you don't enjoy it you simply skip over it and turn to the stuff that does. BTW, I don't think the money will ever go away. If enough people aren't getting what they want someone will start paying others to get it. That's what business is all about.

There's still more tweaking that needs to be done. I think more options need to be offered for the most part because every consumer has different needs. I think there are some people who wouldn't mind paying a bit more to be able to download or stream a new release that just came out instead of buying the DVD. If it's a new release they should pay more. Paying one fee to have access to thousands of movies from different studios is great but you can't expect those movies to be the newer stuff. You can join a studio site that offers exculsive content (like BRAZZERS) but you should expect to pay a bit more for that and you won't have as much content as a site that offers movies from many different companies.
I guess the ultimate site would offer the abilty ot buy old and new DVDs, offer new releases for streaming and download, offer plans that would allow the customer access to a large data base of movies and offer up different plans/bundles based on content and content age. For example movies from the 80s would be a certain price for unlimited access, Classics would be bundled for a price, etc...Older movie bundles should be cheaper than newer ones. Older DVD should get cheaper over time. Basically, everything's available from one place and you have multiple choices of how you view it (DVD, rental,streaming/rental, downloads) and you have multiple options on various unlmited access plans. It would be like taking the best of various sites and combining them into one mega site.

Perhaps you are right about the casual users of porn, who don't watch much porn or spend much money on it.
When you don't care that you are looking at old porn about a lady who is no longer in the business, then porn like this you can get for free on the internet. There is tons of it. It's the latest porn about ladies who are still in the business that costs money to get.
But casual users of porn, who don't spend any money on porn, aren't the ones porn makers need to cater to. Because there is no profit in it.
It's the people, who become fans of porn stars currently in the business, that porn makers need to cater to. Because these are the fans who will spend money to see the latest sexual exploits of their favorite porn stars.

I agree that people will always be willing to pay for porn but I think the number of those willing to pay vs those more than happy to steal it is getting smaller each year.
If it wasn't then the entire porn industry wouldn't be where it is now. You can change the delivery system but as long as someone can steal the content and get away with it then the industry is going to lose more and more paying people. The sad reality is that porn lost the battle against content thieves. In large part because some of these thieves are part of the industry and have no problem stealing from their friends and neighbors as long as they make money.

^ I agree with what you are saying but I think (or hope) that the industry has learned their lesson and that whatever new means are develeoped to get and use porn will have higher levels of security. There will always be hackers but the industry needs to invest in new ways to protect their content.

I think it's obvious that porn took a huge hit with the economy, 2000-2008 was the golden age of internet porn. Even 4 years later(a lot in porn years) the most popular/established girls in current porn are from those years.

Instead of porn sucking nowadays.. I believe its getting better.. and one of the biggest reasons for it that I believe has been online piracy.
It seems to me, companies are working more hard now to bring out better shot and better written porn than the others in hopes that the people will buy them instead of just download them after seeing the effort being put into them.

So you are saying that the people stealing content at this moment are helping the porn industry because the owners of porn companies are now forced to make better porn that these same thieves will now gladly pay to access instead of stealing? That's like saying that the people who went into theaters to film mainstream movies and then upload them to torent sites were helping Hollywood make better movies. if that's true then they failed miserably because I think the opposite happened. Hollywood stopped making great movies and now most does mediocre crap or sequels/reboots.
Can you name me which studio still in business today is putting out these great porn movies and can you tell me why a thief will have a hard time stealing a good movie vs a bad one. That's like saying that a thief will only steal 20$ and pass up on the tens beause thes are afterall only worth half as much.

I think the companies would disagree with you. Better shot and better written porn will just be more attractive to people but that doesn't mean those that are stealing porn will then decide to pay for it just because it may look better. It's sad but some people feel that they shouldn't have to pay for porn.
Until the industry as a whole figures out a better way to safeguard their movies from pirates it's not going to change. Porn isn't going away but the ways we get our porn is going to have to change to protect the companies.

The 'mass appeal' of mainstream porn products makes them choice targets for piracy and filesharing, no matter how many new barriers and safeguards are invented. So, they will have to always rely on the goodwill of the honest viewers who continue to pay money for porn. The amateur and niche producers are in a bit better shape because, generally, the pirates don't care about the 'low popularity' stuff. So, the viewers of amateur and niche and fetish porn continue to pay money because there is no alternative. For example southern-charms.com and clips4sale.com sites, are selling their video clips for $1 per minute, with practically no piracy issues. Of course, a porn studio is pushing out much higher volumes than a clips4sale store, but also the clips4sale store has much lower expenses and (again) much lower piracy.

In a round about way you're kinda right...Not to say piracy is in any way a good thing and it needs to be pointed out that piracy isn't the sole reason for DVD sales falling. The bad economy plays a part and I tend to think that more people who actually still pay for porn get their porn from pay sites than before. In any case, less new porn is being produced these days and that means that directors/studios aren't just churning out stuff at such a rapid pace just for the sake of producing new content. And as I mentioned before as far as performers go the lack of work has made many of the second string girls leave the biz and the 1st string most popular girls tend to get most of the choice gigs. If a studio is going to put out less product they want to make sure what they do put out is as strong as it can be.
A few years ago people on this site were complaining that there was too much porn being produced and it was resulting in a drop in quality. Less content being produced is bad for the porn industry as a whole but from a consumer standpoint there are some positives.

^You'll have to give me some numbers if you want to dispute that less porn is being produced now than a few years ago. I keep track of both North American and European porn and the numbers are not any better in Europe. I'd even be willing to say that they are worse. Sites like Teen Core Club, DDF productions, WTF Pass, No rest for The Ass to name a few are all struggling and almost all of them have dropped the number of updates to the point where you barely get a tricke if any. The only network that seems to be doing moderately well is 21Sextury and even they aren't the powerhouse they werew a couple of years ago.

I don't have any statistics to back it up, do you? I agree the American studios are on the decline.
Why is it that there are endless European Websites popping up that have recently produced porn if it is on the decline on an international level?
American Porn which today for the most part is absolute garbage is not a reflection on the entire world.

I think the golden period of porn was from the decade from 1998 through about 2008. 1998 was around the time that Anabolic and other hardcore companies were coming out with more vigorous material and it was quite exhilarating.

Yeah, there are waaay more pay sites toda than therewere a few years ago but from what I can tell a lot of it isn't new material. Are you sure all the stuff you say is new content actually is?
I think the tube sites play a part but aren't the sole reason for the decline of porn sales. I personally think DVD sales have been affected the most and DVD sales are probably what was most successful for certain studios. I'd be interested to know if a studio like JULES JORDAN isn't actually seeing incresed downloading/streaming sales on their site as DVD sales fall. Plus, people have to keep in mind that with so many places to get the same content if the money simply isn't being more spread out than before. For example, I still spend money on porn but it doesn't go to the same places as before. These days I buy less JULES JORDAN and EVIL ANGEL DVDs because I get some of their movies from the pay sites I subscribe to. I don't stream from their site but I pay an all access fee to a site that offers up some of their movies. I'm sure giving those sites the rite to stream/download their movies isn't as profitable as if people were only able to get that content from their sites. If there are tons of pay sites offering the same content the money being made is so spread out it would mean that instead of a few companies making lots of money there are now lots of companies making a few dollars.
I think porn is still a very profitable business the game has changed and different people are making some of the money. Yeah, the free tube sites are out there but there seems to be lots of pay sites popping up at a steady pace. That would indicate there's money to be made with them. I've seen people here complain about the prices of sites that offer pay per minute options but the fact that those companies are sticking with those prices indicate that enough people are paying them that they don't have a need to drop those prices. Meanwhile, DVD prices continue to fall.

It doesn't matter if they're "lazy" or "suckers", the point I was making is that enough people pay those prices that those companies don't see the need to drop them and those companies are have taken a portion of the porn paying audience and have redirected a portion of where porn profits used to go.

Can you give me the names of brand new sites? I'm not aware of that many that have popped up in the last year or so. I know that teen core club introduced a brand new site called teen anal casting in June and they've pretty much stopped updating it and all ofd their other sites. 21Sextury added butt plays to their network but frankly all the girls are the same that appear on gapeland and the it's the same guy that produces the content for both sites.
What do you mean by today? Is it in the last year or is it longer? The type of porn made today is about the same as it was a few years ago. The only big difference is that you are seeing less of it and you tend to get some girls to do more extreme stuff than you would have seen a few years ago.

^Take a look at the review site. You may find that my link offers slightly better reviews and more accurate information. There are definetely thousands of porn sites on the net but most of them are dead sites and there are not thousands of new sites.

Here's the obvious porn trend that I've noticed: It seems that anal porn with hot chicks has been increasing exponentially every year since about 2001-2003. 2003 and 2004 especially, seemed to be really important years for anal porn, both Euro and American. And every year since that time period the output of extreme, hardcore, and increasingly higher quality anal focused porn has been increasing.
Every year the anal girls get better, they gape wider, they do more extreme things, the movies are better shot, and every year there's more of it. Until around this year. It seems like 2012, in particular, is the first time since about 2002 where new anal porn is literally less exciting and less plentiful than the last year, and that hasn't been true in at least 10 years.
Of course, part of this could be due to Jay Sin going on vacation this year and not releasing anything, and companies like Sineplex and plenty of the other Euro studios producing less stuff lately. I hope this trend is reversed next year when Jay Sin comes out of retirement, and anal porn gets back on track......

^I think we're seing more anal sex and more girls doing it over the years because over the years it's become more and more common. If a girl wants to be able to get more jobs she'll have to do anal because there are so many directors/studios doing anal scenes. Also, with more and more "big" male performers in porn these days girls have had to learn to handle those big guys. All this has lead to more girls doing anal, more girls being able to handle big guys and it's become easier to do because they're doing it so often. There was a time when anal was a bigger deal and not done as often but now it's completely normal for many girls and actually prefer to do it because it pays more and they've learned to like it.
I also suspect why we're seeing more anal fisting these days than ever before.

Yeah porn blows goats these days because they keep doing the same scene over and over and over and over again countless times. All women are wearing skirts and heels and look exactly the same. In the early 1990's porn was different. Way more original. Wild and crazy scenes and not the same crap over and over again like today. Finding a scene with a girl wearing socks is like impossible even if 98% of girls wear socks as a normal part of their wardrobe. It blows...
