I seem to have picked up adware or spyware and cannot get rid of it.

These are my symptoms:

1. computer slugish
2. web browser homepage changing
3. frequent popups
4. windows alerting me that my 'virtual memory minimum too low'.

I've attempted to fix the problem by running Nortons, Ad-aware 6.0, and Spybot Search & Destroy 1.3 then reboot and run all 3 cleaning programs again, but problem still persists.

Any suggestions on what to do before I throw my pc against the wall or take it in to be professionally fixed?

Thanks.

When was the last time you installed new software? Did the problem occur after this? Also, what browser are you using?

The one problem you have with the popups... they can be stopped if you run some popup blocker program. Other 3 problems I'm not sure how to fix. Sorry.

All the problems I believe are linked to spyware ...and very stuborn spyware at that as nothing would permanently removed this one. Problem appears to be fixed now, I did a one week back system restore.
