I bet I have some sort of file infection but have no idea how to manually get rid of it. Not sure what I should do. Any file cleaning software, or has something reset/changed something on my pc. Been going on for a month, and it was really bad today. Windows 7 64 bit. Even contacted my ISP and she was able to remotely use her mouse without problem. And I have thought it was the mouse, but it works, and highlights what I would click, or acknowledges it like it would normally on any pc. And it's even occurring while I am on my desktop. I works, but is delayed, and I am clicking the hell out of it. Have Macafee, and Malwarebytes, and neither find anything.  [Link] |

Or a trackball or something different. If the problem persists, then yeah--something's screwing with your input devices. If not--then either your mouse is dying, or maybe the drivers need updating, or got updated and the update is bad. That happens.  [Link] |

Vacuum the keyboard, turn it upside down, shake gently, then vacuum it again. If you can, try another keyboard and see if that helps. [Link] |

| ninja1 Senior Member 2940 Posts 1/08 | Posted - Aug 10 2016 : 10:04PM The mouse buttons can and do wear out. I have a mouse with center button worn out. I have to deliberately press it REAL HARD, not just use a normal lightweight click. Try experimenting with different ways of pressing the button, from different angles/amounts of pressure, etc. to see if you can "tease" the button into working. The fact that your ISP was able to use her mouse, albeit remotely, strongly points me to a hardware -- i.e. your mouse -- problem, not a software or malware issue. The fact that McAfee and Malwarebytes didn't find anything also makes me think it's a hardware problem, not a software or malware issue. Surely, you must have an extra mouse lying around to try out? It's a file, and or driver issue. And I dealt with something similar in XP many moons ago. Was the same thing. It was easier to get help with it from my ISP. He actually went in and removed files he thought were suspect, and it cleared it up. I have to keep away from certain links on this site, and my naughty tube sites. [Link] |

If it works normally in Safe Mode, then it's not a driver issue (or a mouse issue, for that matter). If it doesn't work normally in Safe Mode, then it would almost certainly be a hardware issue -- as it is 99 and 44/100ths percent likely that any malware you may have acquired will not be running while in Safe Mode. So, If it works normally in Safe Mode, and we have ruled-out a driver or mouse problem... But, Then still doesn't work properly when you boot back up in Normal Mode... That would leave us with either: (a) malware issue (b) a disagreeable 3rd-party software/driver issue (i.e. that wasn't present in Safe Mode) (c) a hardware problem PLEASE try plugging in a different keyboard -- or at least unplugging the keyboard you have, after logging in -- and try doing some simple things with the mouse alone. IF swapping-out and/or unplugging the keyboard cures the problem with the mouse, I'd bet that you have a hardware issue... with the keyboard, not the mouse. Unless you installed 3rd-party mouse software, you are almost certainly using the default Microsoft driver that's been around since 6/21/2006, and that almost everyone still uses: 6.1.7600.16385 If you did install 3rd-party mouse software, I'd uninstall it and let the default Microsoft driver handle it (and it will... remember it did in Safe Mode). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IF nothing above helped you, you might consider running the excellent and free to use VIPRE Rescue. (You may want to run VIPRE Rescue in Safe Mode and without networking, so that your McAfee doesn't fuck with it.) IF VIPRE Rescue also finds nothing, you just maybe are going to have to bite-the-bullet and do a complete fresh re-install. (Which just may not be such a bad idea. Frankly, I consider doing a fresh install of Windows 7 to be an excellent thing to do at this time -- even if you weren't having problems.) IF you do wind-up doing a fresh install, let me know, and I will share a great deal of helpful information -- especially important concerning updates! -- with you Edited to add: We didn't discuss what you've been doing with Windows Updates. This is important, as some updates over the past year have broken lots of functionality if they got installed! For that matter, not installing updates can cause almost as many problems. Is your hard drive full or almost full? If your computer's resources (CPU,RAM,disk) are overwhelmed, then anything you try to do will be slow to respond. It's working much, much better, but something is still on here. I am going to try my ISP again, and hope I can get someone who might recognize something. And when I am on Yahoo the computer seems slower. It seems like it's working harder. I think Yahoo's newer format is pure shit. [Link] |
