BTW, there were lots of paid memberships this past year -- where people paid and joined sites with downloads -- only to have the downloads taken away (i.e. and being left with streaming only, after they had already paid). Or, worse yet, found out they could no longer download after the site auto-renewed their memberships -- without noticing a change in terms -- and then refused to refund their money (i.e. on the auto-renewal). In any event, stealing is stealing, and I never condone stealing. I believe that, if you're paying for a site, there are grey areas unless specifically prohibited. Furthermore, anything other than for your own personal use would be stealing, IMHO. |

If you joined with "unlimited downloads," and they then took that ability away, yet auto-renewed you anyway, how do you feel about that? FYI, I'm not pushing screen-capturing streaming video, I'm just not outraged by it when you've paid to join the site. And, not as a common thing, but as a work-a-round when circumstances present themselves (i.e. like paying for something that was then taken away from you without recourse). Honestly, screen-capturing streaming video is a major pain-in-the-ass. Furthermore, people shouldn't join stream-only sites with the intention of screen-capturing the streaming videos. It costs you far more in time, picture quality, quality hardware and quality software then it could ever possibly save you. Porn websites might try fully and clearly making information easily available, instead of using deceptive promises and pre-checked boxes, where the customer can really only find out the true information and realities after joining and paying their money. Then, I might be more sympathetic to the current situations working themselves out in the marketplace. FYI, so far I've only seen one website -- DigitalPlayground -- meet acceptable standards and practices regarding full up-front disclosure. Bottom line: I'm not "advocating" here, so let's not get wrapped-up in beating this to death. I understand the issues and I've fully explained my positions and why. |

However if you pay for use of something and take it back home, i guess its to be considered stealing. Copyrights and ethics couldnt be farther from each other tbh...
