She just changed her name to Britney Rears and committed herself fully to promoting LFP, Inc.'s Britney Rears film. Well, the sequel is due out April 11th, and the new song that's played during the trailer is goofy and fun. Of course, there's a press release circulating and we can probably expect some more as the release draws closer. I was really critical of the way the first film was promoted, but now I don't honestly remember why I cared so much about them failing to acknowledge Britney's previous work as "Jessica Sweet". It's pretty harmless stuff. I've always thought she was damn hot, head to toe, and her scenes are usually pretty good. Well, anyway, I wonder what's going on if she's available for bookings as Jessica through GoldStarModeling now especially with the Britney Rears sequel and it's likely large promotional efforts coming up. Incidentally, I've watched the first two episodes of the new season of Surreal Life largely because I felt as if I'd seen Andrea Lowell somewhere before but I couldn't put my finger on it. A pleasure to watch all three times. I often go back to all of these scenes. At the time she was Brian Surewood's girlfriend (I don't know if they are still together or not) so she worked with him in all of the above. Jessica - I'm with you, Kelly. I've never had a problem with Jessica Sweet as a performer; she's immeasurably cute and she's been an enthusiastic and fun-looking fuck in everything I've ever seen her in. I lost sight of her once she became Britney Rears, seeing as how she wasn't able to perform for anyone else other than LFP during that time and didn't do a whole helluva lot for them, either. I did, however, see Wild Backstage Sex Party. Her scene ended up being the only really memorable one (well, hers and Nicole Brazzle's). I'm happy to see her with Gold Star and available to everyone again. The more places I can see her, the better. Vanessa Lane - I knew she had problems she left the biz to tend to. I hope she's over that hump. She was one of my early favorites for Best New Starlet last year. Reina Leone - I don't know where she is. I haven't seen her in anything in forever. Plus, a lot of us would just recommend our favorite girls in such a thread, even if it didn't make objective sense. Either way, I think they are going too broad with the films. There is some potential for great satire here, and it's being missed. Introduce a Nick Lachey/Federlein composite. Embrace Britney as being a white-trash gal instead of a generic slut. Fuck, you can even work in Gregory Dark jokes if you want. Or go to the currently more popular star and play up the preacher's-daughter-Jessica-Simpson angle. I'd hardly even call it a franchise...does anyone have any numbers? Was it even all that popular at all? To me it was one huge joke and to re-cast the Rears role is for them to take that series way too seriously and adopt an attitude much like the one they apparently maligned Jessica for. It's simply not worth all the fuss since no one really created much of one about the movie in the first damn place. Let it die. No one'll miss it, believe me. As for all the squandered potential in the existing Rears movies? Everything that Kelly suggested would've been money but to ask most pornographers to successfully craft a smart parody...well, that's giving them way too much credit and asking them to put way more thought into their product than they're used to. It's also been reported that her deal with LFP was not exclusive as was assumed. She just couldn't wear the Britney wig or use the Britney name in other productions, but she chose not to work in other productions at all. I know we'd prefer it to not be true, but if it's a fact, since when is it a dealbreaker, as far as fandom or ability to perform? I don't doubt that perhaps the Britney Rears hype went to Jessica's head (her choosing not to perform elsewhere even though she wasn't exclusive to LFP lends credence to that particular rumor) but do you think it's really gotten to the point that's been reported even though "Britney Rears" is now a part of her distant past?
