Hi Guys,

I just built a new pc p4 3.0 gig mhz a gig of ram etc. When I turn it on, I get no post beeps, no video or anything.

There is power and the fans are going, I took out the ram and video card and put them back in to no avail. Still no post beeps, or video?

what else can I try?, what could it be?

thanks
ps:there is no burning smell what so ever.

I'm guessing it's a power supply or reset switch issue. A processor will start executing instructions from ROM at boot only upon the chipset receiving a power-good signal from the power supply. Power-good is typically delayed 500 to 1000 milliseconds to allow the system voltage time to stabilize.

A stuck or incompatible reset switch will have a similar effect. I've also seen this same type of behavior from system boards with the CMOS erase jumper/switch accidentally in place.

Does this computer have (or require) a plug in processor voltage regulator module? A missing or incompatible voltage regulator can do this too.
