HELP. MY PLAYTIME VIDEO DVD-R'S FREEZE, BREAK APART AND STOP. Which dvd player will play them properly?

Ok this is the horror story i'm gonna tell you about the 50 Playtime video dvd-r's I bought about 6 months ago. The past 6 months I played 10 of those dvds and it took me this long to only play 10 of them due to my very large porn collection. Anyways when I played the 10th dvd I discovered it had a defect although the disc shows no possible sign of that. Starting about 35 minutes the video would break apart, freeze in which I would have to eject the disc and try again, then it would also completely stop. This defect was occurring on my old Kenwood dvd player so I tried my second fairly new Toshiba dvd player(SD5300 upconverting dvd player) and the exact defect occurred although played perfectly well on my computer drive. I then decided to thoroughly search through all the other 40 Playtime video dvd-r's I never watched yet to discover in horror that another 13 dvds had this exact defect that always occurred starting about 35 or 40 minutes to the very end of the dvd on both of my dvd players but NOT my computer drive. In fact when selecting a scene on these defective(?) discs, scene 3 and/or 4 would not load due to these scenes hitting the 35 or 40 minute mark but this problem does NOT occur before 30 minutues on my 2 dvd players for some unknown(?) reason although the video breakage does occur on some of them when first inserting the disc and playing the intro of the FBI warning and the Playtime video logo but when playing the beginning of the video til about 30 minutes or more, no problems at all.

So my questions are,

WHY is this happening on my 2 dvd players but not the computer disc drive?

WHY do the other 36 Playtime dvds play perfectly well on my 2 dvd players but not the other 14 discs?

Do these 14 discs in fact have a defect or is there a problem with my 2 dvd players? If these 14 discs do not have a defect, then what problem do they have? Why does this defect only start after 35 minutes and not before?

Since these 14 dvds play 100% perfectly on my computer drive, WHICH dvd brand should also play them with no problem?

If I email Playtime Video will they send me replacements of the same titles for the 14 discs when I bought them 6 months ago or should I just buy a new dvd player that will play them with no problem and which dvd player should that be?

Computers are better (more robust and more fault-tolerant) than standalone DVD players. It is impossible to know if the problem is a defect on the 14 dvds or is it a data incompatibility which the dvd player simply cannot handle.
I would recommend this sequence:
1. If you can get free replacements, get free replacements (just for the heck of it).
2. If you cannot get free replacements (or if the free replacements give the same trouble), experiment with various computer programs aimed at copying DVDs and video files, with a goal of using your computer to produce your own "fixed" copies of the defective/incompatible DVDs.
3. As far as which brand of DVD player, you will have to experiment. Try your friends' DVD players. Befriend someone at BestBuy to have them try it after hours on their various DVD players, maybe in exchange for a promise to buy your new player from him. Or just buy something new, with a good flexible return policy, from a store which has a lot of brands, and keep swapping until you find one which works, or not, at which time you just get your money back.

I just tested these 14 dvds on my dad's new Fluid dvd player and they actually play perfectly as well as on his computer drive. So maby the problem is data incompatibility although if that was the case then why do the other 36 Playtime dvds play perfectly on my 2 dvd players but not these 14 discs?
I just bought on ebay a Magnasonic dvd player and another $45 chance hoping that these 14 dvds will play properly. I didnt want to get the Fluid dvd player as what my father has because the remote control doesnt have the A & B repeat loop function. OH, THE HASSELES of buying a dvd player that would work the way you want it to.

^ It is unlikely that all of the movies were encoded using the same version of whatever software was used. It is more likely that either the software was upgraded or different software was used over the course of the series.

DVD-R is sort of a tricky matter, anyone can make DVD-R on their computer, there are many DVD editing / burning softwares and many possible parameters which the author can choose for setting everything up. I suspect Playtime did something a little bit different in the creation of the 14 discs than the 36 discs.
