IIRC a DVD movie takes up between 2.5 and 4 GB (single-sided). A terabyte is 1,024GB. Multiply that by three and you come up with 3,072GB. Formatting takes up about ten per cent of a hard drive (308GB in this case). Worst case scenario a 3TB drive will hold 681 movies after allowing for formatting space and assuming a 4GB per DVD ripped. In actuality you are looking at roughly 800 DVDs to a 3TB drive. Blu-Ray DVDs are approximately 8.5GB per disk (single-sided). You can do the math if you mainly have this type of DVD (very few people even have a player capable of playing Blu-Ray disks). Since most porn DVDs are not copy-protected I think you can rip them to a drive with Windows 7 or 8's version of Windows Media Player (haven't tried it so I cannot say for sure, my office computer has XP and WMP on an XP machine does not play or rip DVDs).

Weak argument unless you're that insecure or distrustful. If I was in a monogamous relationship and I trusted my girlfriend that it would remain a fantasy or she'd carry it out only with me, it wouldn't bother me if she watched porno and flicked the bean.
Obviously I have no statistics to support what I'm going to say but from my experiences and anecdotal information you'd be surprised the number of married women who watch porn. More than that you'd be astounded at how many of them watch it behind their husbands back. I recall recently reading something like 70% or more women watch some porn on a regular basis. This might also include those who do so with their husband/BF/SO. I know my sister, who is pretty damn vanilla, enjoys (yes, enjoys) watching porn with her husband on occasion. I don't know of one woman, with whom I work (I work in a law office) who hasn't watched some porn and the variation in that group between those who are single or married is insignificant.

I'm glad somebody else has had the bravery and honesty to bring this topic up because it's not an easy one. I myself have long enjoyed porn, in one form or another, since I was a teen. It has always been something that I have secretly felt ashamed to watch with such regularity and interest as if it were a TV series. I had grown up listening to other women or girls my age talking about how dirty and demeaning it was, my parents telling me the same sort of thing, so it was of no surprise I kept this strictly to myself and never told anybody about it. And yet, as much as I wanted to keep it a secret, a part of me yearned to share my passion of porn with others, be it on a conversational or intellectual level and not feel alone. Over the years since my teens, my passion has ebbed and waned but it has always been there to some degree. However, in the last year something has happened and I feel that I am no longer ashamed to like it as much as I do. It is still a secret but I know I have control over it and it does not interfere with my life like it used to. It is having recently looked back in hindsight like this that has allowed me to understand and accept the fact that porn is a part of my life and it is an interest which I am very much invested in, and in some ways always has been. Get yourself 2 HDDs in the 3Tb size range, put one of them in your computer and put the other one in an external enclosure box. Install Linux Mint or Ubuntu Linux on the one you put into your computer. password protect this account and ask on the site for the distro how you can make Windows or OS X your default boot in GRUB and have the GRUB wait time set to only 1 second. Doing this means that when you turn on the computer you'd have to hold down the down arrow to stop it from automatically loading Windows allowing you to select Linux. Linux by default requires you to make a password protected account. Once in Linux open up Synaptic and grab a video ripper like Handbrake, AcidRip or Thoggen and the x.264 encoder, use these to convert your DVD collection. Once done you can do whatever you like with the DVDs, sell them and buy more if you like. Grab your external HDD and use this to make a backup of your new Linux system, do this whenever you have new content to save, then disconnect it, your backup should never be left running or plugged into anything in case of catastrophic failure or computer theft. Keep it in your safe or fireproof box. Linux also gives you a much safer ground to browse the somewhat more questionable sites out there since it's immune to Windows malware that isn't written for Flash or Java, since those kinds of things work on everything, use the script and flash blocking Firefox add-ons to prevent them from even loading. This also gives you a place where you can fix your Windows install from, since from Linux you can access your Windows install, but your Windows install cannot see your Linux install, it doesn't have the file system drivers to do so. From Linux you can run Clam and Avast! antivirus on your Windows install should Windows be borked. As always, backup to the external at least once a month, there are programs for Linux to automate it for you, all you have to do is plug in the drive and it'll do all the work and tell you when it's done.

Did you lose any rare videos that just can't be found anywhere anymore? I once had my main drive die on me and only a couple of days later my external backup broke before I had even copied its contents into the new main. Lost the only video I ever found of Emily Marilyn aka Molly Matthews getting dicked and the seller isn't around any more and pirates don't bother with those kinds of niche videos. ^ Yes, I have a 16GB MP3 player with most of my music on it. However, I still own the discs that the music came from so I still own the license to have the music. I even still have cassette tapes and records in my collection. I will say that I haven't bought a music CD in ages, I buy music online now. If you crack it, even to make a copy that would otherwise be "fair use" say to watch it in a different region, you've violated the DMCA. It's stupid, but that's how it works. I run Linux, in order for me to even watch a store bought DVD I have to violate the DMCA by installing the CSS cracking libraries, the same goes for Bluray, even though I've legally bought it I can't "legally" access the content I've paid for without violating copyright, which is a civil mater, not a criminal one. Fair use says that I'm allowed to circumvent that encryption in order to make backups as well. /Since the backups are exact duplicates what I choose to do with the original is my business, since I'm committing no actual crime since there is still no victim unless I start selling counterfeit copies. The tubes and torrent sites are providing a better product then the studios are, the studios don't realize that their product is priced too high and is not as easily accessible as it should be, nobody wants a dozen expensive subscriptions to sketchy sites just so they can find all the scenes of their favorite fantasy girls.
