"Why Men Love Bitches" recommends that women hold out having sex for as long as possible with a new guy.
Guys, what do you think of this? Is this good advice or not?

Depends on if he or she wants something serious. In which case, being in on the "take it slowly" plan would be nice.

"Why Men Love Bitches" would hardly be a reliable source for me to take advice from.
What is as long as possible and what is the point of holding out?
I can generally tell if the person I am with is somebody I want to fuck or continue to see right away, and if I don't want to continue seeing them I have no desire to fuck them.

I don't love bitches. I think they're selfish, and who wants that in a mate?
I suppose it could be love at first sight for both of you, in which case, why wait? Well, maybe because you don't want him to think you're impetuous.
At any rate, most people aren't that lucky. So, try this on for size - would you like the man that you want to be with to think that you consider him special? If so, then don't go to bed with him right away, else he'll at least consider the possibility that you go to bed with anybody and everybody that takes you out on a date. That could be a problem, don't you think? Don't we all want to believe that we are special to our partner?
You don't have to hold out as long as possible, just enough to prove the point, which is probably two or three dates. It isn't an exact science.

This may sound old - fashioned, yet, in some places, courting is done without a kiss or holding hands until you get married. That may seem extreme to some, yet, the idea of getting to know the other person first is a good idea.
When I met my wife, she lived a hundred miles away from me. We would see each other on weekends. During the week we were "pen pals". We wrote long, hand-written letters to each other for two years, before we got married. Just sending a brief text message may not accomplish what a snail - mail letter would. We got to know each other very well. I knew we would get along well together.
Whether you wait or you have sex soon after you meet is up to you. Your question reminded me of the old question..."why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?"
What really matters is if you have discussed lots of different topics..sex, kids, money, etc. before you establish a long - term relationship.
My wife saved all the letters I sent to her. She keeps them in a candy box.

Agree with Hardware. 2-3 dates is good and allows the juices of anticipation to build nicely.

If you care about the guy, or want to find out if you do, wait.
Not "as long as possible," but rather, until there is a level of interest in each other that looks like a developing relationship. It might be three dates, or longer. It depends on the guy and on the relationship, etc.
If he doesn't want you to know where he lives, you haven't met any of his friends or neighbors, or you aren't welcome to drop by on short notice, etc., you aren't there yet. Also, if it seems like you are pushing things, you aren't there.

I'd say if you want to fuck a guy on the first date...go for it. Why use stupid number of dates in a relationship before you crawl in to bed with someone. If you have the hots for each other, do it.
I've banged a fair number of gals on a the first date and didn't think any less of them. They were mostly girls I knew socially or in school but had never "dated". If the relationship doesn't cut in the long run I'll bet it won't because you felt the girl was too easy.
The important thing is the the chemistry is there.

If she ain't spreading on the second date I have no use for her. You wanna hold out on a dude then maybe you should seek men from church.

It's clear from her other threads that SunShowers is not looking for a one-night stand or a one-week 'relationship.' I don't think she is your type.
Forget church, unless you are religious and want to be with a church-y guy. Just forget bars unless you want a bar guy.
Meet guys at things you actually like to do, it doesn't matter if it's bookstores, aquarium owners club, dog shows, whatever. Forget all advice to fake interest in things you aren't interested in, too (which is not the same as not being open-minded and taking an interest in whatever he's talking about).

I wouldn't focus so much on how long you can withhold sex from the guy; maybe think more about how long, and to what ends, you want to withhold sex with from yourself.

for me personally, im not interested in a woman who doesnt have sex first meeting/date
the reason for this is, i have realised more what i like since hitting 30s..and one of these things is i much much much prefer sexually confident/forward women who love wild sex as much as me if not more
luckily 90% of the women i meet want sex first meeting.. to me i am more attracted to them if they are like..shows they arent embarrassed about enjoying sex or inhibited..if a woman mentions she wants to wait a few dates.. i lose interest..to me it shows they want something more serious and think they look bad if they have sex too early...stupid rules i hate

Glad you said that. It's funny how women hold out or are reluctant to have sex until a pre-determined number of dates in theor 20's but once they are in their 30's and beyond most will freely fuck on the first date. Prehaps it that a number of us have been married once (at least) or that we are aware of the ticking and the time running out on whatever level of attraction we still have. THose women who hold out as a means of control are usually know in their social circles as manipulators and self-centered people.

This exactly makes my point. SunShowers is not interested in guys who keep track of women by percentages. Therefore, it doesn't matter whether she is a good match for you.

Holding out as a means of control is stupid. The guy will just have sex with someone else while he's waiting you out, if he's into first date sex. Waiting a few dates until you know if you like the guy or want a relationship is different. I'd say if you want a one-night stand, have one. If you might want a relationship, have a relationship first.

I am not a control freak and I don't want to appear insecure, but it HAS been my experience that men seem to pull away after sex.
Here's my instinct: if it's meant to be, it will happen regardless of hopping into bed. I waited a month with one guy, I was a perfect angel with him, never too slutty or a prude, and it still didn't pan out once I slept with him.
I am young and I have one life to live. I am not going to worry about what might happen. If it feels right, I'll do it. If not, I won't.
I have a theory with why it didn't work out the last time, anyway.
Thanks to everyone who responded and gave their insights.

Maybe the women who hold out simply have more self-respect than to fuck a guy on first date.
I wasn't much for first date fucks. And when I did have one, it was usually a just because I wanted a one night stand.

To me, waking up with a woman and wishing I wasn't there was an awful experience. Waiting until the third or fourth date generally worked better for me because I never regretted it the next day.

There IS no 'reason why it didn't work out.'
What you do or don't do doesn't determine whether it pans out or not.
There's nothing you can do to make the next one work. For one guy, you're too much of one thing, and for the next guy, you're not enough of the same thing. And the third guy isn't looking for a long term relationship, so it doesn't matter either way. You think there's a perfect place on the virgin/whore scale that will snag the next guy. There's not. Don't bother trying to force a relationship on the next guy. There's no point.
There is only one thing that works. Be yourself. Have a series of dates and short-term relationships that go nowhere. You are not a match for those guys, or they will be ready to match someone in a few years (or never), but not now. You will also most likely have a couple of major relationships that break up. If you view all of this as misery, then it is. Or you could enjoy the dating without expectations. If the right guy comes along, then you could be a stripper or a nutty psycho or dysfunctional, or not even speak English and he will still follow you anywhere. Think about it. Take a look at relationships around you that WORK and ones that don't work. There is no perfect girl.

The current, and best, relationship started bass ackwards. We didn't follow the usual "rules," and it's worked so far, and continues to.
I still keep thinking it's another form of holding out for a long time when I see the topic title.

I think the age specific thinking is dead balls on.
If I got laid on the first date when I was 18-23, I'd probably lose a little respect for her. Maybe, maybe not, but once they are older I fond that women in their 30's to 40's are horny as hell and it they've already been there done that why not with you too?
I LOVE women who are sexually aggressive and are comfortable in their own sexuality. The sex is always hotter and much better than women who have hangups or social pressures with regard to sex.

If you want to have a relationship you need to be able to judge the situation and go from there. If after a night of drinking with a new dude you have sex with him I doubt he's looking at you as long term relationship material, rather than a quick hookup or a fuck buddy.
If you have a lot in common and hit it off socially and emotionally then long term relationship might be in your future.
