(shower gel for example) If there's tons of things in there that you can't even pronounce correctly, best to steer clear because you don't have a clue what it's going to do when inserted internally. Baby oil is pretty good, mineral oil, Crisco, Petroleum Jelly. Something like a hand lotion (Jergens for example) has quite a chemical additive list and you don't know what they will do internally. I find full-synthetic lubes are more resistant to thermal breakdown and flow better in colder weather. It's a little more expensive than the other stuff but well worth it.
