Now as to your comment on criticism being an helpful tool for a person to improve themselves. I guess that could be true but it always involves people who know and love the person they are criticising. Like family and friends which is not the kind of relationship we have with most performers. In fact I would argue that almost everybody on this forum is not a friends with any performer and never has been. Some may see them from time to time and some may even spend time with them but is it anywhere other than strip clubs and/or conventions? Therefore most performers are complete stranger sot us. The inherent problem with criticism of a complete stranger by another complete stranger(that more or less describes our relationship with performers on forums) is that it's nearly impossible to distinguish a genuine positive criticism from a mean comment. The only time I might see where a criticism might be warranted might be if a performer asked a specific question and wanted to know why we answered the way we did. In that case the criticism wouldn't be directed at the performer but the answer we gave them. The best example I can think of would be if a performer was thinking of going under the knife for a kind of body modification and was curious to know what we thought of it. Our answer would probably include a criticism but it would be one that was asked for ahead of time. [Link]
