You can't. Everything runs on server time in the forum which is in the eastern US time zone.

A question about the "You last Visited" time: What triggers it?

I'm asking because it seems to always get set to a slightly later time than it should.
That means that the "Active Topics" page are often missing a few of the older posts.

In case it matters, my PC's internal clock should be pretty accurate, as it's synchronised regularly with NTP.

You last visited is stored in a cookie and is set based on the server time here.

Our servers are syncronized via NTP as well. (At least they used to be, I haven't checked them in a while to be sure the time server we pull from is still functional.)

I have noticed the cookie.
If the cookie is set with your server time, isn't it later compared against that too?

If so, what triggers the cookie being saved?

If it's the time of my last page read, and the Active Topics page is the last one I access, shouldn't that ensure that no posts will be missing next time?

I believe the Last Visited time is the time you entered the forums. It seems that way for me when I return.

The page reads seem to be independant. On this note, the pages read seems to work and be accurate for me.

... an example Kperv. I just went through the forum and threads began showing up as 'read'. Then I set ALL threads as read with the link provided. My 'Last visited' time did not change, but it will the next time I log in.

Like Don stated, it's when you first enter the forum as part of a new session. This value is independent of topics that are read or not. The easiest way to think of it is the value set in the cookie is the time of the first forum page access during your last visit to the forum.

It must be something at my end that's causing the behaviour I'm seeing.
