LOL, yup the question that's been a thousand times before...

If she swallows.

Oh, I guess you're talking about before you get to that point...Dude, there is no way to know. Just be friendly with her, get to know her, and maybe some flirting will become so obvious that you can't ignore it. Ultimately, though, you might never know unless you take the plunge and ask her out.

Evil, as an older guy looking at this question, I have a far different perspective from the one I had when in my 20's. I would wrestle back and forth, and debate in my head, etc. Now I would, without hesitation, make an obvious move, flirt overtly, ask her out, etc. If she says "yes", you can begin to enjoy more quickly. If she says "no", you can shift your attention elsewhere. In any case, you save yourself the agonizing and consternation. You also save yourself from the "now we're friends" syndrome.

I'm with aybesea on that... I have a much different perspective than I used to.

I wasted a lot of time wishing and hoping and wondering. I think now I would be much more forthcoming about it. It's not as big a deal as I used to think it was, and it would've saved alot of time if I could have just been more daring and either gotten a yay or nay.

I never expect to be out there again... so I couldn't say for sure what I'd do now, but I'm pretty sure I'd have a lot more confidence, and at the same time be able to handle the rejection better because I wouldn't have built it up so much to begin with.

To be truthful though... I always KNEW down in my gut whether a girl was interested or not, but unfortunately I often didn't follow my gut and had to go through several painful "let's be friends" discussions.

Who knows though. History has a tendency to repeat itself and if I ever lost my wife, I'd probably go back to being single, hopeful and mousy. :)

Aybesea is 100% right. Quit wondering and ask her to dinner.

If she says no you wouldn't have wasted your time, and you wont have the "what if" looming over you.

'Sides women like self confidence.
