Hello everybody. I have always wondered how female pornstars get "prepared" for a scene. What I mean is, obviously they shave "down south" ;), but what else?
It would make sense to put some make-up on the bodies to make them look better in terms of color and to hide any flaws. But whether they actually do that or not I don't know.

I'm usually usually told to bring a variety of outfits (very few studios provide wardrobe), so first thing is to make sure I have the proper attire packed. A typical scene usually means showering, shaving, making sure my nails are fixed up, showing up with clean dry hair and no makeup (if there's a Makeup Artist.) I personally pack a toiletry bag with baby wipes, lube, basic makeup, makeup sponges (in case of Aunt Flo :P), enemas, douches, a power bar, butt plug, and a towel. If it's an anal scene, I'll enema when I wake up and rinse out periodically on set. I don't stress so much about eating as other girls. I won't eat breakfast that morning and then after I've gotten my makeup done I'll usually snack on a power bar and stay plenty hydrated. I don't necessarily douche unless I feel it's necessary (douching too often can lead to yeast infections and such.) I also needs to make sure my papers are in order (two forms of ID, a copy of my AIM test.) Finally, I need to check the address and directions to know where I'm going (if I rely just on my gps it might send me in the completely wrong direction as happened once!) Some girls look up the talent they're working with though I usually don't. I like the surprise. :D I generally wake up 2-3 hours before my call time to be sure I have plenty of time and show up calm and in a good mood. I organize all the stuff mentioned above and then go fuck! :D Charlotte

Dan, Unless someone is trying to cover up one particular blemish I've never seen anyone put makeup on their bodies before a scene. With all the groping and sweating and rubbing that takes place, all that accomplishes is having it rubbed off on the couch or other person and all of the sudden all the imperfections one was trying to hide show up magically mid-way through the scene. :P That's why it's sooo important not to show up on set marked (which is oh so sad for a girl like me that is into S&M.) c'est la vie Charlotte
Compared to truck drivers, lawyers, ballet dancers, pro football stars, and cashiers? Hate to burst your bubble, but in my experience, the higher end companies aren't willing to take on the liability of shooting a girl who's clearly on anything stronger than pot. Call times are usually somewhere between 8 & noon, a good bit too early for most girls to chop a line of coke or take a hit of a crack pipe. Drug abuse is certainly going to be rampant amongst any group of people who are earning very large sums of money, without having had to learn the discipline to take care of it; that's not unique to porn. Perhaps oil is one type of make-up that makes the flesh look better and it doesn't rub off, especially if the actors are doing each other in an oil-bath. There is a reason why 'Big Wet Asses' is such a popular series. If it was just the Big Asses without the Wet part. Then perhaps it wouldn't be so popular.
The most interesting stories are the tales of what some girls do to prepare for an anal scene. One girl said she slept with a buttplug inserted the night before if she knew the guy was big. One girl said she stands on her head to douche. Another said she won't eat the night before but will have a powerbar just before the scene to pep her up.

Hi Bogand, I do not want to act like an advertising man but if you join Third Degree or Zero Tolerance sites you can discover there more than 400 BTS videos where you can see many pornstars preparing before their scenes. As a member BTS scenes there are my favourites, I think you will really enjoy them.
Good question op. I didn't realise they had to have an enema before anal, but I had often wondered what needed to be done.

Just another gimmick.
Hopefully, they do some old school oral hygiene preparations, too: 1. Brush teeth 2. Floss 3. Rinse with mouthwash That's just standard for everyday dating, so I'm sure it applies to porn scenes -- at least, I hope it does. Besides body odor, what is worse than bad breath? Not only is the enema needed before a scene but then they cant eat or drink before an Anal scene I believe. That's a "pain in the ass" (pardon the pun). But for those who cant go w/o coffee in the morning its gotta be hard.
Well... how a porn girl SHOULD get ready for a shoot is as followed: shower, shave, douche or enema, brush teeth and use mouth wash, and dont eat mexican food or do drug prior... BUT.... its actually quite disguisting how many girls dont do any of the above!!!!!! Amia Miley, baby ;)
Hi, It is an "ALL" day process for me. Wake up early.....get to the gym, come home and shower, shave, douche for my kitty (because I have not gotten into anal yet) and I just want to be extra clean for the camera, brush my teeth, deodorant, lotion my whole body so I am silky smooth, paint my toes along with nails (making sure they are extra shinny), straighten my hair, and then makeup. ^^^^ HAHA and it isn't easy....just a long day. Because I am not into girlie things really. So doing all that stuff could be frustrating (like painting the toes). I can't stay still! I want to look good for film and have everyone enjoy what they watch. BUT I DO WANT TO SAY THANK YOU! (WOOT WOOT) Edited by - OC_AJ on 6/23/2009 10:53:04 PM
depends on the girl.... i know for me i wake up anywhere from 5-8 am to drive from san diego to la. eat a bowl of oatmeal, go to get gas and a iced chai tea latte with two shots of esspresso and start my drive to la(anywhere from 1 hr 45 min to 3 hours depends on traffic) then once on set we fill out paper work, pick wardrobe, get into make up(if provided) douching, put in a sponge (if on the rag) start stills, solo and hardcore do scene may vary if anal is involved... i normally use the stream master before i leae my house and at home enima attached to my shower i also enima on set and put in an anal buttplug before i start make up to prepare my anal scene but like i said it depends on every girl, some wake up take 45min shower 45 min hair blow dry session and take swwwweeeeet time to get to set making them 1hr late for set or more some prepare by doing line of coke to deal with what they do.... "im the girl your mother warned you about"
I always wondered do the stars and directors negotiate before the scene on positions and how exactly the scene will go. Say for example if a male performer whats to cum twice in a scene can he just do it or does he have to coordinate that before hand. Do female performers say I don't like a certain position or I don't like the money shot in a certain place?
90% of the decisions related to the positions and the flow of the scene are made by the director, either in advance or on the fly. The female talent can offer her opinion, or even flat refuse to do something, but being too much of a diva can lead to the director just not working with her again. Male talent *rarely* do more than one pop shot. To date, the only time a director wanted me to pop twice, was for a bukkake shoot. John
im sorry but how long have you been in the industry and what so called higher end companies have you come across that tend to stary from hiring the coke head meth addicts? you dont know anything about this industry by stating that... without naming names some of biggest users in this industry are also some of the biggest names in the industry who work atleast 3-6 times a week. and work for big big named companies such as wicked, digital playground, vivid, evil angel, etc... ive been on big named companies sets waiting to use the restroom while i hear a girl in there cutting up lines and snorting them. "im the girl your mother warned you about"
can't speak for others, but I'd still like it almost as much. like, 99.9% as much. A lot of pull that series has for me comes from the positions they use. for example, i find it really hot when the girl is sitting on his lap, but sideways, or when the girl's butt is hanging of the couch getting pounded... As for the topic at hand, asking stuff like this and getting answers from people who do it is the best part of the forum for me. And I've always loved behind the scenes stuff, blooper reels, etc. But you guys are seriously ruining my mental image. I prefer to think there are two main ways to prepare: Going to a dojo in the forest, sitting still and meditating to center yourself, or putting on the headphones in the locker room, and boxing the air to work yourselves up like boxers. lol.
"Girls who are clearly on anything stronger than pot" is the operating phrase here. I'm not saying girls don't use, I'm not saying directors don't use, I'm not saying producers don't use. I'm saying that it's a popular, but untrue, myth that meth labs moonlight as porn sets by day, and that the talent hangs around shooting up, dropping E, or hitting the crack pipe in a big clusterfuck before they go on camera. A girl completely zoinked on something is a girl who's about to give a terrible performance, just as if she stayed up the entire night before drinking and partying. I certainly wouldn't waste my time or money shooting a girl who's blitzed. The sound of chopping lines of coke is remarkably like the sound of someone trying to bang the last few bits of nail polish out, followed by blowing one's nose. Do you usually put your ear up to the bathroom doors? John Edited by - JohnHenry on 6/24/2009 8:11:50 PM

She's your girlfriend's mother's sister who has a thing for dressing in red, and visiting your lady once a month. Aunt Flo isn't a popular woman; she often makes people irritable around the time she calls by.
and like i said you clearly haven't been around very long. as for me hearing people doing coke in the bathroom... no body sits in the bathroom tapping a nail polish bottle to paint her nails, that was an idiotic statement. you are either very naive or in denial about girls using either before or during her her scene. and like i stated many many big named girls are heavy users and work regularly, i wont name names because its not appropriate but if you so choose to know ask around "im the girl your mother warned you about"
Hi Charlotte! Hi John! Pretty much the same as Charlotte said, sans enema (no anal for me) and no shaving.. tee hee. I usually do not ever eat garlic or onions (I am very clean and sweet smelling, everywhere :P I have been told) as its rude to the male talent, I believe. Douche for sure, baby wipes, often, before and during scenes, mouthwash, mints, etc. I usually do a surgical scrub too just to be extra clean and germ free. I wish more gals and guys did that! I wake up very very early, and leave early so I am early. Once you are rushed, you never catch up. Sometimes I even go out to the shoot area the night before if its an early day -- like the Reality Kings shoot I did Monday, call time was 830 am, so leaving at 5 am was not an option for me, personally. I do not want to look tired for the scene. Major gatorade -- sex is hard (but yes very very fun) work!! LOL No food, it makes me sleepy... and man do I eat like a horse afterwards! Ibuprofin the next day... positions you do not do daily take its toll sometimes! My bag I prep the night before a shoot contains: Lube Wipes Antibacterial scrub Mouthwash, soap, towels Douches 10 or more different outfits of all kinds from shorts to formalwear (you never know) Theme outfits as requested A huge bag of dildos and vibes (again you never know!) All my shoes Lingerie galore Panties galore Accessories, earrings, necklaces, etc. It usually takes me several hours before a shoot to organize my bag. It's appreciated by the director, so many girls show up with a grocery bag of clothes and a pair of shoes (so amateur!) and they have to scramble to dress them appropriately for the shoot. ID's, AIM, extra government releases just in case. Usually I mentally prep for the scene by looking up the talent. I do not like a surprise, I like to fantasize about the scene ahead of time so I "connect" with the actor and makes for better, realistically hot sex, IMHO. xo Heidi
^Well that is descriptive and informative. "Now we know, and knowing is half the battle" You are excellent with planning and preparation. That is great to know. *****The Dr. of Nasty*****
Thanks for the insight girls. But I wonder, what do you get in advance of a scene, as far as, Talent info, script, scene descriptions, positions, theme of the day? How detailed is the pre-shoot info?
Nope, that happens on the spot. Sometimes we get to know the Talent (I am picky so I always do but a lot of gals do not know or care).. For script its a wing it situation with a general outline. UNLESS you are doing a movie, then yes you get lines in advance. I like to connect with the male talent that day for at least 5 minutes. Flirting, a little heavy petting, etc to warm up for the scene... But then again, I like to have a personal connection with the guy, perhaps a lot of girls don't?
It depends on the company/producer usually. Some info you have to have in advance, like if the girl is expected to do her own makeup and/or hair, the location, the call time, usually the names of the other talent, the type of movie, (bg, gg, etc) if there'll be anal or not (bga, bbga, gga, bbg dp) and anything else relevant i.e. creampie for example (since a good number of women simply won't do them; 'surprise' creampies are faked, male talent that fuck up pop shots don't stick around long.) Girls are 95% of the time expected to provide their own wardrobe, so the type of clothing is usually specified. After working with a particular company or director once, it's easier to get an idea of what to expect of a coming shoot. There's a particular director for Evil Angel who does great work, but had been known to put girls in tears. Because Charlotte had been informed of this in advance, she didn't take his comments personally, and what could have been a disaster turned into a great shoot because she knew not to take his comments personally. Personally, I also like to connect with the girl before a shoot and when that doesn't really happen, it's left feeling (and in my opinion, looking) a little sterile and contrived. John
I hate to be the one to ask a dumb question, but honestly I don't know - why don't they? Are the producers/studios, etc. just cheap? Are they worried about outfits getting torn up, dirty, etc.? Or maybe they just figure it's not important?
depends on the company... if its a specific look they want then sometimes they have wardrobe for us... but for the most part yeah they are cheap and then bitch about what we did or didnt bring on set. i know back in the day companies always provided the such, and also had catered lunches which rarely doesnt happen now... "im the girl your mother warned you about"
Saving money is part of it. There's more though: various girls have various sizes and figures; 34DDD bras that are both attractive and fit right can be tricky. Besides, would you wear a thong that had been worn by another guy? Same deal. Beyond that, a particular site or production company really can't reuse wardrobe; the same pairs of shoes and outfits in the same movie (or movie series) can be distracting to fans. The girl choosing her own clothes also gives her a measure of control over her own look. Having said that, a good producer always has a bag of extras (clothes, toys, etc) in the event of a girl with horrible fashion sense. John
Really? I thought it was always that way (i.e. that the companies didn't provide the wardrobe.) Begs the question - say an actress wears something she really likes, and then she finds out the scene calls to hike it up or inch it down - does she try to argue with the director? Or just do it and hope for the best?
Arguing with a director is a quick way to end up never working for him/her again. Most directors are amenable to ideas and suggestions, and they usually try to make the talent comfortable, but nobody wants to work with a pain in the ass.
You give directors waaaay too much credit. Wardrobe is important for boxcover photos, then it doesn't matter after that. That conclusion is based on how most porn is shot and edited. The only exception AFAIK is Rodney Moore.
