You can change a title's information (or create a new title entry) and either lock that info in your local database, so it doesn't get overwritten next time you sync with the main database, or submit the edited info to InterVocative, where people can vote to accept or reject your changes. Their database of titles is really comprehensive. Of course, croy, if, as you said, you're planning to leave Windows behind, you don't want to get hooked on DVD Profiler.

| K Smitten Kitten Cloud 9 530 Posts 2/06 | Posted - May 12 2006 : 6:24AM I'm an OK-ish touchtypist, but for me, entering a 10 or 12 digit number on the numeric keypad is just as fast as entering the title. More importantly, it's DVD Profiler, not Movie Profiler. Sometimes there's a barcode clash, and you get a short list to choose from. Still much easier than picking the right one of out all the international versions when searching by title. If you're looking for such an application, try it. [Link] |

Every startup, it downloads new info (if available) for the UPC and title database, and everything else is downloaded as needed. I like it. I export the DVD list into XML and then massage it to create a web front end to my collection which I can then use to load any disc via IR commands and a little DLL I wrote... [Link] |

But there are limitations on the search capabilities there plus a lot of titles Empire just does not carry so I enter a lot manually any way. Would definitely save me money. $40 to get one program that does all vice $100 to get three. [Link] |

| Goldmember Member 518 Posts 7/02 | Posted - May 15 2006 : 6:54PM If the application you were previously using does not appear as an option or you are having difficulty importing using the direct importing feature, you can still import data from a tab-delimted file. In your previous application, export your library to tab-delimited format. Then, in Delicious Library, from the "File" menu, choose "Import" then "From a File…" Pick the tab-delimited file you exported - Delicious Library will read the file and add all of the items. Tab-delimited files should have the first line as a list of headers and use tab characters to separate fields. Here is a simple example what tab-delimited files can look like (assuming the groups of spaces are tabs): UPC Medium Format Title Author Director Artist 978446532686 Book Hardcover America (The Book) Jon Stewart 027616852809 Movie DVD This Is Spinal Tap Rob Reiner 602498813546 Music CD With Teeth Nine Inch Nails View Example File (option-click to download) If you are having trouble importing a specific tab-delimited file, write us, sending your file as an attachment, and we will look into what the issue may be."
