I need to know becuse im really thinking in becomeing one not right now but in like 6 or 7 months form now i need to lose some weight and get rid of some other stuff the reson why i want to be a porn star is the good money and the love for sex
Now im plaing to move to LA rent an apartment get new furnitrue and get a angent so how much do you think ill have to save up to become a porn star
are you a guy or girl? either way, you're looking at an initial investment of your soul, but girls shouldn't have to pay anything after that. if you're a guy, you usually just have to let mickey g. sodomize you for a few days while locked to his furnace and give him $1500 for it. then you're ready to begin an exciting new career!
My rule of thumb is never enter any new venture with less than a six month cushion. That give you 90 days to find out it's not what you wanted after all, and 90 days to line up something new; all while saying "fuck you" the hustlers and preditors.
If it turns out you like the gig, the cushion will have helped set your own terms – there's nothing that gives you more leverage than being able to walk away from a bad deal.
Of course if you saw a clear line between where you are now, and having $12K-18K cash money in your hand seven months from now, you probably would be considering porn, would you?
It it necessary to have a test done in the last 30 days at a clinic that is approved (I forgot who does this) to work on most sets as a performer. Unless you feel that getting HIV is no big deal, then you can look for guys like Jay Ashley.
Send your photos to an agent. spieglergirls.com or ladirectmodels.com are the biggest and reputable agents. If they like you, they'll fill you in on everything. AIM Health Care is one place to get the proper HIV test... 818-981-5681. www.AIM-Med.org Best wishes!

maria - the clinic does the test, but you have to pay for it.
Tony has excellent advice, and if more people lived thier lives that way, there'd be a lot less bankruptcies in the world.
For an answer closer to probably what you have in mind... apartments in LA cost anywhere from $800 - $1500 for a small, 1-bedroom, safe but not luxurious apartment. Some agents have housing for the girls, some don't.
You'll need to have a car and car insurance, because your shoots can be pretty far away, and there's only 1 or 2 agents that will drive you to work if you don't have a car, and that's just to work - you would't be able to get anywhere else. And LA's bus system kind of sucks - in an emergency, I've taken it, but it's really inconvenient 90% of the time.
Bills like a cell phone, apartment electricity, etc. will also factor in.
And as far as being 'camera ready', you'll need to be tanning and have your hair, nails, etc. looking good.
If you're a stripper, you can use that money in the beginning to get going.
Be aware that money in porn is not guaranteed to be great. In reality, it's not as much as most people think it is. Is it more than flipping burgers at McD's? Yes, but there are health risks and emotional considerations that may outweigh the money you'll be making.
I would REALLY recommend that if you decide to go through with becoming a porn girl, that you don't move to LA until after your first videos. That way, if it's not for you, you haven't committed to moving to LA. A lot of girls don't move here until after a few months in the business.
If you do start making good money, be reasonable about how much of it you spend. You won't be making that kind of money forever, and too many girls make the mistake of as soon as they start making money, they buy a fancy car and get a really expensive place to live and lots of really expensive clothes, and then when they leave, they have no money saved.
I did use mass transit to get from Santa Monica to Chatsworth last summer. It took 3 hours.

Maria, you should try modeling for porn magazines or working as a webcan girl first, before jumping into the LA shark tank. If you become a successful model for Hustler, Swank, etc, you'll have bargaining power when you decide to do adult films.
You should also try working as a webcam girl on Ifriends.com, Streammate, Steamray, or Tricams to see if you actually like sex work. You can just buy a webcam, get some decent lights from Home Depot, and work as a cam hostess from home.
Read the porn faq here about breaking into porn:
http://www.rame.net/faq/part3.html
In order to succeed in porn, you have to have the BRAINS and looks. Both are equally important, particularly the brains part because there are alot of people who will use you and abuse you in porn valley. You need to have a game plan before you even get to LA, because here, you are swimming with sharks. For every girl like Keri Sable who becomes a star overnight, there are plenty of other girls who make one film, decide they hate it, and never do another.
The number one piece of advice I'd give to a woman considering porn is don't think of it as a career, think of it as a summer job. It'll make you some dough and you'll probably have some fun, but don't count on it lasting very long.
The big difference, of course, is that unlike most summer jobs, large numbers of people will know your face aftewards. If you don't plan on hanging with the social straights then that might not be a problem, but if it is you might want to consider a line of work with less social stigma attached. Or, you can always find Jesus, though that works best if you're a guy, for some odd reason.
Another option is to check out some good pornstar websites. A few reputable girls are now shooting their own content and are always on the lookout for new talent. Email them and I'm sure they'll give you decent advice and if successfull will probably help with accommodation etc if you do a shoot for them.
Maria, didn't you mention in one of your earlier threads, that you felt relieved, that you don't have to break into porn to meet your favourite male star? I remember you're already in contact with one of the girls.
No offence. But after reading your posts, I get the feeling that you change your mind very fast and very often.
Please, keep in mind, although an average porn career lasts for 8 months only, it will affect your whole future life.
well i still thinking about it its a 50/50 thing right now im thinking if i can really do this becuse right now i dont have the body for it and working out at home really is boring some time it not like a Gym that you do difffernt stuff when you get there and the Gyms here in my home town are far and i dont know how to drive i just dont want to be the " fat girl " in porn i really want to be a knock out and that going to take a lot of work and also i have to lern how to dirve so maby ill see in 6 months were im at and see if im redy
Aren't all women mercurial ? It's what makes the dance so damn confusing and enjoyable .
Maria - If you're bored with working out at home there are plenty of alternatives ; join a sports team in your local area ; hire or buy some exercise tapes ; or maybe buy one of those electronic gizmos which zaps your muscles into shape while you slob out on the couch . In fact lying on a couch might just be the best preparation for porn you could possibly do . If you can , try and find a yellow one for maximum effect .
maria, where are you based in the uk? why dont you consider startiing off in the uk first then branching out? what type of scenes are you looking to conduct?
I really want to do this and im going to do it im alredy stared to put money away for my apartment in LA i figer it might cost me like 3,00.00 to move and for your information im here in Cailfornia and How should a Girl act if she was redy for Porn ????? i love to have sex and that all i need to do
and for those that are wondering if im doing this just to fuck Reno the answer is No
By tomorrow she'll have implant surgery. By next week she'll be making her gonzo comeback so she can "live out the fantasies I couldn't live out when I had to be a goodie two shoes contract girl."
i dont care what all of say about me well see in 6 motnhs form now you will be saying its that the girl that was on ADT wanting be a porn star look at her she is so hot!!!!!!!!!!
Maria, we're only teasing you because we don't have to look you in eye. If you were here in person, we'd get all nervous and look at our shoes.
Go re-read Tricia's reply. Porn is on par with Alaskan crab fishing – pays better than most jobs that doesn't require any special skills, but comes with risks you don't have working as a shop girl - some of them will chance the course of your life forever. Over the long hall, there's a good chance a lot of shop girls end up further ahead.
I know, hard to think of the long haul when you're 22, especially when thinking of all that cash in hand, and doubly so if your an exibitionist or attention hound. But if want to get the maximum financial benefit of being a porn girl for 8 months, then you'll have to have at least as much self-discipline and determination as it takes to get a college degree – and you'll have to do it in an atmosphere that might not be as supportive as your average college campus (not a strong statement, I know.)

I would suggest you start off with a softcore company like JM Productions. Try a scene in American Bukkake or Gag Factor. It's the easiest money you'll ever make.
