| RonK Big Double Everything Fan Poor Turkey running for her life with Christmas Hat 3713 Posts 9/01 | I got infected by the mfing trojan adclicker (somewhat indestructable). I have ran several free antispyware and norton anti virus (damn thing failed and did not prtect my computer). The programs catch the worm but cannot remove it. It is in the start up registry key somewhere. Help! How do I get rid of the worm? Good thing my computer is ancient and it is time to replace it. I bought a replacement Gateway AMD 3800 dual core but have not opened the box yet in case I want to return it. On a related note, what firewall and virus scan are good (free and pay)? I hate MacAfree although there is a free copy with comcast cable connection. Thanks, Ron [Link] |

I'm using LavaSoft's Ad-aware, SpyBot Search & Destroy, and Microsoft's AntiSpyware -- all of them free. I've got all of these running scans daily on a staggered schedule when I'm unlikely to be using my computer. I also have both an external "hardware" firewall in my router and a software firewall on my computer. So far, nothing has managed to slip past the combination of protections.
