I was on a video site with all kinds of mostly porn videos and clicked on a picture showing a cute blonde. The video played and basically, someone shoots a bear out of a tree with a rifle, killing it. Then the girl and the shooter have sex, with her positioned sort of over the body of the bear. After it's over they show the dogs, that presumably chased the bear into the tree, kinda pulling it around and biting at it.

Now I don't want to start a debate over hunting or anything like that. What I'm wondering about is the legality of this. I recognize the guy in the video as someone that is in web porn, so this was intentionally filmed; it's not like some amateur decided to do this "on the spot". I guess it's not technially beastiality, as there was no sex *with* the bear, just sort of touching it. But is it legal?

Is it stupid? Universally. People doing things like this, that make "regular" people really pissed off and putting it in the context of porn is just screaming "please prosecute me."

This bothers me. I'm not sure if it's appropriate for me to post a link to the video or not. I don't want to tread on shakey ground here. If a moderater would care to comment about posting a link, I'd appreciate it.

it's fool and worse than bestiality at least in this activity people don't kill the animals

I think it's sick is there really any sexual excitement in such stuff , anyway I do think it should be illegal , how can be accepted this kind of killing to do a sexmovie?

that is unacceptable

I have no idea about the legality of such a video but I also don't see the need to post a link. I think we get the idea.

In fact, that sounds vaguely familiar. There was an uproar about this, or a similar incident a couple of years ago.

This sounds very familiar. There was another mention of this couple of years ago here on ADT. But yeah, it's sad and sick.

It's not only legal, it's Constitutionally protected. The great thing is, no one's forcing you to watch it.

To kill animals at will without purpose is Costitutionally protected?

I always thought that cruelty toward animals was a crime

Cruelty towards animals is a felony in most US states, but the definition of what constitutes animal cruelty varies widely and you have to be able to prove that the intent was to be cruel in the first place.

For example, a pretty widely-publicized event down in Texas involved an Emu rancher. For awhile, Emu's were all the rage for the "get rich quick" schemes. Several ranchers bought dozens of breeding pairs in the hope of cornering the market. But, like most schemes, Emu's didn't quite pan out. One rancher spent almost his entire savings on his "herd" (or flock or whatever) of Emu's and stood to lose his ranch over his purchase. So he got rip-roaring drunk and walked out into the corral where he kept them with an aluminum baseball bat. One by one, he'd walk up to the Emu's (who aren't that smart and just stood there) and would swing the bat at their heads and literally clubbed them to death. Someone caught it on video and he was arrested on about 15 animal cruelty charges. Thanks to the vid, the charges stuck.

Had he went out and one by one pulled them out of the corrall, taken them into the barn and chopped off their heads cleanly and quickly, that would be considered animal slaughter....he's well within his legal rights there as a cattle rancher.

Animals don't have any protection from being killed for sport as long as a) it's legal to hunt them (bear hunting permits aren't that hard to get), b) you hunt them during the allocated "season" to hunt them...can't just go out and shoot them whenever you feel like it (except in certain cases), c) you are a licensed hunter and d) you kill them in a quick/clean manner, usually with a firearm or archery device (bow/crossbow).

In an ironic twist here....I saw a statistic not that long ago that showed that over 50% of the funds spent on animal preservation comes directly from the license fees paid for hunting permits. So in effect, hunters are the biggest contributor of $$ to animal welfare.

Yeah food and medicines in Lagers or Gulags were provided 100% by Nazis or Communists so they were the stronger contributors
to their prisoners welfare.

anyway killing a bear in a video without defensive reasons nor to protect sheeps or other productive animals needs more proof that it is a cruelty?
I wonder what kind of proof is needed other than that perhaps a written will of the bear in wich he declares that he won't suicide?

No, the bear killing the guy, and then fucking the blonde, would be even sexier!!!
If american laws protect a guy who kill an animal for sexual purposes, and condemn another that film a girl peeing, considering it obscene, then people who does those laws are insane.

It is kind of disturbing that people get off on shooting a bear, but if it was a legal hunt I won't judge them. Whether people cheer, cry or fuck after shooting a prey is their business, just as long as they bring it down legally and humanely. If animal cruelty was part of it, then it's a different situation altogether.

Ok Thomas DC, that's two jabs at me, so it's time to respond.

1. I support hunting. I'm not a "bunny hugger".
2. I'd take you to task on your argument that this particular case is "constitutionally protected". I'm not saying this act is overly illegal, I'm saying that I think you're stretching the hell out of the First Ammendment if you think that is the "protection" you refer to.
3. Dogs chasing prey is natural and hunters use this to chase and eventually kill prey. Again, I support hunting. I just thought it was kinda distasteful to see the pack dragging the bear around. They didn't tear it apart, but it just seemed like a big "fuck you" for no good reason.

I think controlled hunting of bears (and no, not just for "defense" as some have suggested) is perfectly alright. This case seems to me to be someone simply using existing hunting laws to kill a bear simply to put it and the sex act on film and shock people. In short, I don't think the trigger man had any sort of "hunting" intention. See where I'm coming from?

4. You are correct. No one "made" me watch the video. It struck me as bordering on abuse, so I decided to post here for other opinions.

About controlled hunt of bears I have to say that I'm European
there's no such thing here we have 20 , maybe 30 bears replaced from captivity in Italian Alps (NE part of them)
too few to allow any controlled hunt of them , that's why I spoke about "defense" .It is unacceptable to kill one of them for any other reason, they were extinct already , and we're trying to save the species , any killing would lead to another extinction but this time there will be no replacement

I'm against the hunting but I'm not blind nor fanatic I understand for example that too many of a species might destroy an ecosystem so a controlled hunting of that species to maintain their population in number is needed, but it is not the case of bears at least not here that's why their killing disturbes me alot

2: There's the killing aspect, and then there's the video aspect. My reference to Constitutional protection was regarding the video aspect only. How am I stretching, in the slightest, "Congress shall make no law ... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press...."?

3: 'distasteful'? Definitely, it is, to my personal sensibilities. But then again, I don't hunt or kill animals for the sake of entertainment. But when you consider how distasteful your porn-watching is to some people, are you sure you want to outlaw every act that anyone finds distasteful? Would you want hunting outlawed, on account of it being distasteful to some people?

4: The question of legality was raised by others, so I replied.

I put the question of legality , but not for the video of course , as a video it is out of the question especially being rated 18.

My point was on the killing , I was dubious about that being legal

Is this the video you're talking about? I'd seen this a while back and forgotten about it until I saw the thread...

Not only is this pointless, it's just plain creepy...

Hunting is one thing, but shooting something for the sole purpose of having sex on it is just wrong.

One day, long ago, I walked into an unlocked bathroom and saw my grandmother on the toilet.

Kinda disturbing isn't the word......
