If you could make the rules about what is allowed and not allowed in adult movies what would you make legal and would you make anything illegal. It seems to me that at least in some ways are freedom has taken a step back. In the 1970's there were scenes with s/m and penetration, fisting, and etc. Europe seems to be a lot more liberal in what is allowed.

I would definitely make fisting legal, even though it is technically not illegal, but American studios shy away from this subject.
The only things I would NOT allow would be : children and animals, everything else would be fair game, so long as it is all consensual.

Well, there was a discussion of this topic on this fairly recent thread.

However, the views expressed on that thread were of the more permissive end of the spectrum around here.

When a thread discussed the topic of Rough Sex 1 & 2 having been pulled from distrubtor shelves after release, in an atmosphere of industry and especially distributor and retail concern that it was going too far given the legal climate, voices more in accord with the current limits were heard.

See also this thread about a Golden Era classic that underwent some significant censorship cuts in the recent DVD re-issue. And how incongruous I found that in light of some of the new production stuff that's again starting to be released today.

Then come back and argue with me. <gg>

BTW, BigMike neatly summed up my position as well.

The first link above explains just what the current legal situation actually IS pretty well.

OK, I am not for violence against women, this is why I don't care for Max Hardcore. I think that as long both parties agree to what will occur on the set, and fully understand what will be done, without being forced to do something they don't want to, then it is fine with me. But the thing with Rough Sex, from what I've heard is about it is that it is very violent. Don't get me wrong, but I don't see the appeal of some guy beating a "helpless" woman. This is not good porn! Personally, I would never watch any of the Rough Sex series. Because they may say that it is consensual, but I don't think some starlet would agree to be beaten on film, if she knew going in what would be done. But I could be wrong.
