Some of the best Private DVDs are the "Private Life of" series, which are compilations that focus on one performer. They so far feature Monique Covet, Silvia Saint, Nikki Andersson and Cassandra Wild, all of whom are Blonde though.

Another standard answer to where to start with Private is with Millennium, which is both an overview of Private's video works, features 22 full scenes, plus 2 more in the "extras" section.

Tania Russof: The Story is another good disc, it's basically the forerunner to the "Private Life of" which has a pile of scenes (12 I think) of Tania Russof, a very attractive Russian Brunette.

I like Private's Pirate line best. Frank Thring normally makes a very good fetish film, and Tanya Hyde makes some of the most creative and visually stunning features out there.

If I'm looking for more of the "mainstream" style European films, I'll take the Marc Dorcel films Wicked is distributing any day over Woodman's DVDs. So far the features have matched up very well against Private's offerings, although not many of them have as many extras as Private's DVDs.

As Astroknight points out, if you're after understanding the dialogue as opposed to a rough plot with lots of sex then Marc Dorcel's stuff (Distributed by Wicked) is a better bet than Woodman's.

Creeper - I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of Brunettes so far in the Private Life of series. When you look at the four ladies who have so far been the subjects, you can see that it's their biggest mainstay Stars up front

~ Monique Covet (who was voted Pirate Girl of the year when they revamped the mag a few years ago)

~ Silvia Saint (need I say more?)

~ Nikki Andersson (has been working for them for many years now, and still active)

~ Cassandra Wild (relatively recent, but a lot of work so far)

I'm sure they would also have produced one for Tania Russof if she was still performing, as it stands thay have "The Story" (and The Nikki Andersson Story was rebuilt for the Private Life of DVD, with more recent scenes put in).

After this, we only have speculkation as to who's next, but they have to be girls who have done 18+ scenes for Private to make up the content on 2 discs, and preferably over at least a couple of years...

To my mind this leaves:

Laura Angel (easily has the number of scenes)
Bettina (close to the number of scenes, has been around awhile)
Mercedes (a bit short on scenes still, I'd imagine)

after this it gets hard.. Rita Fayoltano, Michelle Wild will surely be future candiates, but they're both too new. Lea De Mae or Gili Sky would be good, but too few scenes so far..

a lot of Private's girls who stay active working for them long enough to become recognisable don't have either the Name recognition in the US market or the number of scenes done yet to justify a Private Life of 2-dvd-set.

Ah well, I've gone far enough off on this tangent for now, hopefully Roger will come along sometime soon and let us know what the plans are for the next few volumes of the series..
