I've never imported any pornographic material yet so this will be my first time. But there's a hentai called Vampire Pink that's come out that I plan on purchasing but I'm sort of unsure how CBSA would treat it. I just want clarification on a few things.

First, Vampire Pink is vanilla, no loli, bestiality or anything weird in it. That should mean it should come through the border safely but I've read that sometimes they withhold hentai anyway so. There's also apparently some sort of "hentai blacklist" for DVD's and Blurays that aren't allowed in, but I can't find it. Vampire Pink is a dub on a hentai that came out in 2011 so I'm unsure if it would somehow be on the blacklist anyway.

Second, the Canada Post site says that pornographic items have to be "sent in an opaque envelope with the words "ADULT MATERIAL" or similar wording. Solicited Publications Mail items only require opaque wrapping". Please don't tell me that I'm going to get a package that's wrapped up in what essentially screams "PORN!" Granted the cover of VP does not have any nudity, though it could be considered suggestive. Unknown what the backside looks like.

I've never ordered hentai so can't really comment on that, however I have ordered many porn DVDs from various stores in the US and Europe and haven't had a problem so far. A couple of times I had to pay customs duties but nothing has been confiscated.

As far as the actual packaging, nothing has ever been sent in an opaque envelope. It's always been padded manila/cardboard envelopes or boxes. Depending on the store they'll mark it differently but again, don't think anything has ever actually been marked 'Adult Material'. I've seen "used software", "DVD" and "educational material".

Like I said though, I've never ordered hentai so don't know if that material would be given more scrutiny given it tends to have a bad reputation (among people who know nothing about hentai).

I've managed to import a couple DVDs to Russia, which is pretty stringent in terms of what's acceptable and what's not.
But then, it was without any loli, futa etc content, and I'm pretty much sure the package simply wasn't inspected.
