I like the AIM link in posts that users have the option of allowing others to contact us with, except I despise AIM for instant message use. Is there any consideration of adding links for other services' users, such as Yahoo Messenger or Windows Messenger?

I worded that like shit. Sorry.

sure. what other options are there? That AIM thing has been around since the beginning and I've never used it. I also never use any instant messaging software so I'm oblivious about the various options.

aim and yahoo seem to be the big ones, icq's kinda relegated to the webmaster-set and msn's for retards. most people who have aim have yahoo and vice-versa, i should make an obligatory plug for gaim, which handles 'em all without ads and shite
find it at http://gaim.sourceforge.net/downloads.php

it's superior software if you're into that stuff.

Seems Yahoo Messenger is the most popular lately. It has oodles of features that AIM lacks, and doesn't have the annoying ads that can't be closed.

I've only used AOL(orig) and ICQ (I still hate the sounds it makes)

There is a tool, which can operate all services
(AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, and IRC)
trillian I never tested it.

I've used it, but people had difficulty seeing when I was online. I uninstalled it fairly quickly.
