I remember when I clicked a thread with new posts (purple icon) and posted in it, then returned to the index page by using navigation links, the thread in question got marked as "read" (yellow folder icon). This no longer happens.. for some reason. In other words, I post and when I get back to the index, the thread with my last post is still purple. I need to visit it again (without posting) to actually mark it as "read". What gives?

i changed the way that the timestamps are recorded to the database about a week ago. I switched to a date format that took up fewer storage bytes. The unfortunate side-effect was that its granularity was only 1 minute instead of fractions of seconds. I switched it back right away in the data tables but forgot to rebuild the indexes that use the value. I suspect that's what's causing the problem. I'll go rebuild them now.

Okay, now it's being marked as read, even when I don't mark it. I open just one thread, then go back to the list of topics, and they have all been marked as read
