Recently I decided I was going to buy the bluray version of Jenna Haze's interactive from Zero Tolerance and possibly the bluray of Lisa Ann's Palin interactive and I cannot find any screenshots to compare the level of video quality as I already own the standard dvds. Does anyone own those versions of the movie and can share with me the differences? Also, I have been eagerly anticipating the new Chanel Preston interactive, but its been over a week since its release date and I still can't find it anywhere.
I have noticed that there has not been a "My Plaything" for a very long time, judging by the recent decline in such movies which are my favorite genre I'm not surprised but very disappointed as I was looking forward to a new one that actually was more heavily focused on anal, (think Rita Faltoyano, but with the regular and anal options on both the nice and naughty discs instead of one and with proper tease options) since the the past four (Ashlynn, Gianna, Audrey and Lexi) are all hardcore virtual sex, but none feature anal sex like the releases before them.
I am also aware that there was supposed to be a new interactive title from Zero Tolerance, but that never happened either, did it? It's a shame because while I do rent regular movies from a local store around me, I only actually own interactive movies that I personally like because of the replay value they offer.

Mike Quasar, from Zero Tolerance, says producing interactive titles is very expensive.

Thank you for replying. I'm not surprised to hear that at all, especially with some of the production values the old ones had, most of which I own.
So, do you think I will be wasting my time or money buying the bluray edition of the movies I mentioned to you?
Okay, so that covers Zero Tolerance. I haven't heard nor read anything from Digital Sin/New Sensations regarding their My Plaything series. I was a little disappointed at the glitch in Disc 2 for Naughty Lexi's ass tease, I see no second angle, but they have all been solid releases since Ashlynn Brooke and the last one I think was Audrey Bitoni or Lexi, either way those were the last two.
I was hoping and waiting after I purchased all the other "version 2.0", a long time for lots of anal in the sex part of the nice and naughty discs (and maybe even more sex positions), possibly in the foreplay and possibly in the other sections. But no official information or statement from DigitalSin/NewSensations that I've seen, unlike Mr.Quasar, thank you for being open and sharing with us that information. I figured it cost a lot even back in the original My Plaything days back a decade now, man I feel old lol.

I don't own the bluray versions of the titles you mentioned. You may want to check out the reviews of those titles over at IAFD.com.
So far, I own the Zero Tolerance, Interactive Sex with titles for Lisa Ann, Alexis Texas and Bree Olson. POV has many fans like us, bmnot.
They say that bluray titles show more detail...every blemish and wrinkle of the performers.

Once you get away from the Zero Tolerance, Digital Sin, and Digital Playground releases most of the other Interactive DVD's go down in quality pretty quickly. The Vivid ones "look nice" but I never really liked the content. After Quasar's Zero Tolerance releases everything else seems tame by comparison.
The problem with interactive is not just the cost involved, it's the nothing you can do with the scenes online. You can't sell an interactive scene, you can't put it on your website in any meaningful way, etc. Porn companies are looking to make money on everything they do at least two times, interactive makes that difficult. You can only really sell it as a disc.

Actually, the interactive titles of yesteryear were not terribly expensive to produce because of the simulated pop shots - you could get away with using one guy for the whole thing. Once we came along and introduced real pop shots and more options, we suddenly discovered that we had to sell a shit-load of copies to make a profit. In most of ours we used 4 guys a day for 4 days to get all of the options covered. That ain't cheap. The last one we did was with Alexis Texas and we spent the most money out of all of them on that one. Then the recession happened and buying habits changed. J-daddy is absolutely right: there are no additional ways to amortize costs with an interactive movie, people need to buy a physical disc, and not enough people are anymore to justify spending the money.

^ I thought your interactive titles were the best realization of that format ever made. I still pop in the Bree Olson disc every once in a while. Really well done. I think it's cool that you had the real popshots for every position, but personally, that wouldn't make or break it for me. If there was only one popshot in the disc that would be fine. I just like the concept of the starlet talking dirty "to me" combined with the POV angles. I liked how you had the most content with the outfit changes (naked, cheerleader, etc.) so it was like 2 or 3 interactive movies in 1 compared to the other companies.
You know another interactive format that I don't think was explored enough was the "choose your own adventure" type. There was one in the early 2000's with Stacy Valentine called "Chasing Stacy" I think it was by VCA. But basically you would follow Stacy around during the day (it was kind of stalker-ish, but whatever) and then choose different activities for her to do and then you would go on a date with her and eventually fuck her. The concept was actually really cool, but the execution could have been much better.
It reminded me of the Corinne Wahl "Video Date" scene in the 1980's sketch comedy film Amazon Women on the Moon, which was one of my earliest memories of seeing sex or nudity on film. If you've seen this you know it was super hot. I think seeing that at such a young age is why I've always really liked interactive and POV movies.
It's too bad they are not as financially viable now.

I can't help with comparing the quality of the interactive versions on standard DVDs vs. BluRay but I can tell you that many standard DVDs have picture quality equivalent of a BlueRay disc. If you have a TV which has a 1080 HD picture capability and you use HDMI cables going from your DVD player to your TV or monitor, then often, not always, you will give a resolution that is similar to BluRay. it all depends upon the quality shot on the standard DVD, if it is crap, it will turn out crap no matter what. If they shot it in relatively good quality, it can upconvert to a near high def picture.
The studio Platinum Media which releases a lot of amateur titles always shoots their product on absolute garbage video that is never sharp, and I can't upconvert it to a better picture.
I have a BluRay player but never bother with BluRay discs. I think you are wasting your time and money to go for the BluRay discs but that is all a personal preference, there really is no right or wrong to your question.

My Plaything Audrey Bitoni (v 2.0) is actually my favorite movie because its all about her and she is gorgeous in every scene! I loved both the good girl and bad girl Audrey Bitoni equally. My Plaything is a cool concept and I would love it if they can have her back. If not, a My Plaything Jayden Jaymes would be good.
