| Another porn addict Member  UK Member 315 Posts 2/05 |  Posted - Feb 13 2005 : 10:50AMThe security programme on my computer alerts me to an ever-increasing number of "Trojan" attacks (which the security programme - Norton - classifies as high-risk) from porn sites on the net. From what I've heard these are potentially damaging in that they can allow malicious operators access into your computer and whatever details you have stored on it. These types of attacks can supposedly also allow malicious operators to sometimes take control of your computer and use it for their own (underhand) purposes. If you do not have a security programme you will know nothing of these attacks. If you want a good security package you might want to consider Norton, Symantec or Zonealarm. As far as web browsers go, it is strongly recommended that you move away from Internet Explorer, as it has many back-door entries that can be easily exploited by hackers and virus writers. I use Firefox from Mozilla.org - it has automatic pop-up blocking (again, a MUST for porn surfing) Have fun!  [Link] |

I use SpyBot S+D every day and use bitdefender online scan about once a week, but while surfing, I still come up with problems. Once they get our of control (as soon as my homepage is irreversibly changed I know it's just a jmatter of time :) I just format hard drive and take 30 minutes or so to reinstall windows, and then another 10 min or so reloading progs. What about all my precious files?? Well I have that covered. I have a seperate hard drive for windows. It's about 3GB and just enough for windows and some programs. Everything else; files, movies, larger programs, e-mails; I save on a larger hard drive. I've only had to do this a couple times, but to me it's easier than dealing with making the computer totally safe, which it never can be. [Link] |
