I would have totally gone for the bigger one, but it's so cute and compact and makes my 5+ mile runs so much better than carrying anything bulky (I just stick it under my brastrap and forget about it). It uses one AAA battery (can be rechargeable.) It can be worn on your arm, belt or as a necklace. It even has a display so you can skip songs and an FM tuner (probably crap reception) that you can record while listening. I think it was $115 CDN so it must be cheaper than the iShuffle in the US. Also, when you load files to the device using their software those files are not visible to Windows Explorer via USB port. [Link] |

The shuffles two shortcomings, and they're huge, are a lack of display and replaceable batteries. Rechargeables have a limited shelf life and if you can't replace them it's a disposable product. I wonder when they'll introduce wireless headsets to mp3 devices? [Link] |
