I know that the site had not been updated in ages, but it still worked fairly well. Now it seems to have disappeared. Does anyone know the fate of adultdvdtracker.com??? Is it gone for good?

To answer my own question, it started working again over the weekend - all by itself. Someone else must have been out of town and unable to reboot a hung server.

Talking to yourself is supposed to be the first sign of madness.

Answering your own posts is therefore probably the second.

I should think the third sign is then posting again thanking yourself for the info.

Thank you, SNP. I obviously need the help.

Rereading my own post I began fantasizing about "hung servers" - imagining protein processors dressed in cracker jacks uniforms.

It's gone again -- all weekend. This is not an uncommon occurrence. I guess it's time to use one of the alternatives. ~ GS

It's back up as of late morning today (east-coast USA).

Data entry, especially in bulk, is extremely awkward; however, it is fairly useful in terms of a down-and-dirty way to list one's video collection with on-line access and without jumping through all the hoops of programs like DVDProfiler.

If I had been the person setting it up, I'd have done it slightly differently. The guy who did it also has a for-pay site ($10/year) that offers a great many more options but they just aren't the options I want (too many with most not important to me) so I stick with the freebee sight.

Drew mentioned a couple of posts up that it would be easy to implement such a site here on "our" ADT. If he does, I know what I want. I think it would be really simple to do.

My ideas for the fields:

  1. Title (text, 48), sortable

  2. Studio (text, 24), displayed, sortable

  3. Director (text 24), displayed, sortable

  4. Cast (text, 120), displayed, NOT sortable but searchable

  5. Category (coded pick-list: Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian, Straight, Mainstream, Television, Other), displayed, sortable

  6. # Discs (integer)

  7. Genre (text 24), displayed, sortable

  8. Status (coded pick-list: Own, WishList, PreOrder, Sale, Trade, Borrowed, Loaned), displayed, sortable

  9. Purchased (date: mm/dd/yyyy)

  10. Source (text 24), sortable

  11. Price (real)

  12. Listing (coded pick-list: private, permit, public)

  13. URL (text 72) [defaults to ADT title sku] but any URL can be placed there] - the "title" is the on-screen link

  14. Rating (coded pick-list: NR=0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5), displayed, sortable

  15. Notes (text 120)
  16. Data should be entered manually by filling in an on-screen form or by importing an Ascii-delimited text file ("title", "studio", "director", "cast1, cast2, cast3", "G", 1, "genre", "O", 1/19/2004, "source", 29.95, "Pri", "http://www.hereitis.com/asdf/xyz.html", 5, "Loved it because of the purple polka-dotted green martians"). Exporting should be equally simple.

I post it. Items marked public, anyone can see; private, no one; permit, iff they have the proper password.

    Don't want much, do I?
