^^ Some? Lol.. I would say the majority of the files on there were stolen on that site and many other big name torrents/sharing sites. Software, music, porn, hollywood mainstream films and even copies of entire books! If the feds can take down one big sharing site, we will be seeing many more I'm sure.

I know that rapidshare is a major conduit for the traffic of CP, I wonder if that was true of Megaupload as well? Why don't they do something about that themselves?
I was really tempted to say all their content but they supposedly did have some legal content on their site. Hopefully this is just the first of many to come. I am really curious to know if Alica Keys new husband is going to get arrested? It seems that Swizz Beatz was the CEO of Megaupload so he profited from all the traffic.

I don't know the background/historical details but there must be some personal vendetta the feds have against Megaupload execs, because ALL of those filestorage upload/download sites (dozens of them) have some amount of copyright infringing materials on their servers. So why choose Megaupload from the crowd?
Maybe because they are one of the biggest, if not the biggest file sharing sites on the net. Why go after the smaller sites when you know that the bigger ones by default have the most stolen content and biggest amount of members.

I actually didn't even know who they were until I read the story this week. I had seen their little logo elsewhere before but never connected it to the site. No! I'm not only saying this because I'm here. I've said this on other forums because it's what I truly believe. Do I think the music industry and mainstream media are greedy bastards that have no qualm in robbing us of hard earn cash by charging more than what their product is worth? Yes, I do but stealing content is not a solution. The guys behind Megauplaod are themselves greedy bastards so it's not like they are doing this out of any moral belief. The Megauplaod guys aren't Robin Hood stealing from the rich to give to the poor. They are the rich stealing from the richer. You know the amazing thing that happens when I and other's like me don't buy crappy products. The industry suffers and they hopefully smaren up. You just have to look at 2011 box office proffits to see that they are way down and have been for the last few years. Hollywood as a whole still hasn't learned because they are still churning out crap but there are some that are starting to get it. The ones that don't will also get what's coming to them. I don't know the relative numbers about data size or member numbers, but there are plenty of huge players in the business. Maybe in the world of music and Hollywood movies, Megaupload was the biggest. But I think Jacco's answer is more to the point.

^ I've never downloaded anything from megaupload (or any other pirate site). I'm not holier-than-thou. For example, I could see true sharing/making available content of things that are permanently out-of-print (even though copyrights may still exist, although next to impossible to determine and contact the parties involved). But, pirate sites are stealing current/active content, seriously undermining the financial and artistic investments made by people entitled to make a living from their efforts, makes legal content harder to sell and keep available legally and actually discourages people from creating new works (which adversely affects society as a whole). Not to mention all the pinheads who think pirate sites are great ways to distribute viruses, malware and hack people's personal information. Unfortunately, the Internet destroys anything it touches.
You could be right but then again it could be that the others aren't flaunting their money because they don't have it. If Megaupload was the biggest file sharing site then it's probably because they had the most and/or best content and the download speeds were superior to the other. Therefore why go elsewhere to download something when Megaupload has it and that's why they made more money than the others.

^I don't know if he knows anything but it doesn't surprise me to hear that Manwin has acquired or plans to acquire RK, Bangs Bros and I'd add Naughty America to that list. It makes sense for them to own companies that are direct competition to Brazzer.

This is unbelievable. One single company owning every major porn enterprise on the Internet? Where's the fair competition in that? Isn't this exactly the type of thing that antitrust laws were created to prevent? Forget piracy and economic recession. It looks like Manwin is going to bring about the end of porn.
Somehow I don't think the Feds will be eager to enforce anti-trust laws for smut merchants. Brazzers is now the Wal Mart of porn - everything you'll ever need all in one place, at the expense of every one else. That being said, you can't help but be in awe of what they've done in such a relatively short period of time. All negativity aside, from a business perspective - genius

I agree that Brazzers is now becoming the Walmart of porn. I said the same exact thing earlier in this thread. To iterate, this just basically means that it's a big company that makes a lot of money and puts its competitors out of business, even though everyone hates them and their product is crap. I disagree that what they are doing to the porn industry is genius. To the contrary, its attempts to monopolize porn pose more of a detriment to the industry than anything else, which will only become more and more evident as time goes on. If this type of monopolization is allowed to continue at this pace, then it will only be an even greater negative impact upon the porn industry as a whole.
I'm with you on some points but your opinion on the quality of their product is just that. Your opinion. I actually enjoy their porn. Not all of it but then again. They are trying to satisfy many diverse people so I take some of their stuff and the other stuff i leave for the others. I'm also not that convinced that everyone hates them. Having such a large parent company owning your site can be great for business (if they aren't out to kill your site) and that is also good for the talent because that means more shoots for all of them. I'm sure the companies they have lost money to them do but who wouldn't. Manwin/Brazzer will soon own a large part of the more popular internet sites so they will either have to close all their tube sites or suffer the same fate as the sites they are blamed for destroying. Their would be a kind of poetic justice if their tube sites were their own undoing.
maybe im not understanding what you mean by tubesites, but from what i've seen, only short clips of the movies/scenes are shown, not the entire video. not sure why anyone would sign up/pay for only parts of scenes. how much is brazzers pulling in annually? I know this is an old topic, but I wanted to bring it back in light of what's going on in the industry right now. imo Manwin has only brought division to the industry, starting with the whole testing issue. They pitted the 2 testing places against each other, and now that there's been a 'crisis' they're just using it as an opportunity to point fingers and further monopolize the industry. I stopped supporting them when I heard out about the tube sites, but seeing this whole mess just further reinforces my dislike for manwin as well as my fear that they will succeed in taking over and we'll be left with only the kind of porn they want(ie no elgant angel, evil angel, kink, etc) I hope it never comes to that. I don't think it will. Also can I just say keiran lee is alsi a huge reason i hate manwin. he's so arrogant about being a CONTRACT STAR for brazzers and is now riding on Manwin's coattails, thinking he's so awesome. and he talks about himself as if he's the greatest thing to happen to porn. Actually I'm quite glad he's a CONTRACT STAR for brazzers cause that means he doesn't get a chance to ruin the actual quality porn I watch. anyways just a little rant i needed to get out after seeing all this shit on twitter.
^ Agreed with 90% of this (minus the Keiran rant, as I'm rather indifferent to the guy). One sliver of hope seems to be that more and more performers are coming out against Manwin, especially in light of how Fabian & co. have "handled" this syphilis/testing situation. I've seen more comments about their rising monopoly over the last week and a half then I've seen in over two years. Will it result in any performers refusing to work for Brazzers/DP/Twistys/etc? Probably not. But this pushback against Fabian's attempt to control testing is good to see. It'd be nice to have the Pirate King knocked down a peg.
