^Quite true and more to the point is why would anyone use You Tube to listen to music when there are far better streaming sites for music. You Tube's entire claim to fame is streaming videos. The only time it makes sense to use You Tube to listen to music is when the tune is not available anywhere else.

^I doubt that it's quite so either/or for many young people. If my daughter happens to be on YouTube and a song pops into her head or a song is one of her YouTube recommendations, she'll listen to it on the site. That doesn't mean that she doesn't also use a streaming service. She'll go with whatever option is most accessible to her at that moment.

As far as an aspect of the porn industry being doomed...I would've told you like five years ago that the business of selling porn on DVDs was done for. Here it is 2017 and while the business might not exactly be thriving, it's certainly surviving. Honestly, it really does surprise me that there are as many people as there are out there who still insist on buying porn DVDs, despite much improved WiFi and streaming capabilities over the last couple years. Not to mention how much less expensive site memberships are in comparison to DVDs. Edited by - Mass Facialties on 10/11/2017 11:43:38 AM
thanks for recommending it....i use pandora, it seems to be the equivalent----mainly i like to listen to entire albums----you can let youtube just keep on running related albums---grooveshark was one i was using a few years ago---you could save your own collection---i think they went out of biz---i didn't care for spotify---i find utube satisfactory, unless you hit albums that are broken up with commercials---utube has a wealth of music, all kinds of rarities, concerts, you name it-----this post has nothing to do with porn
^Don't get me wrong. I sometime use You Tube to listen to music at home but that's only because some of the songs I listen to don't play on the radio but I suspect you and I don't use You Tube if we are using our smartphones.
^Similar for porn...the crappyness of tubesite videos (low resolution, no credits, incomplete scenes, popups, ads, etc.) is not a deterrent to too many viewers. On a small screen device those are just minor annoyances, more than offset by the $0 price. Edited by - ninja1 on 9/9/2017 3:01:15 PM
i have no phone----i'm not smart enuf for it----just the laptop computer on that note, imagine someone never having used the internet (probably elderly) on the other side of the digital divide---is there anyone like that out there? I wonder how many have no experience whatsoever with internet technology. It might not be a negative thing, to be completely ignorant of the internet.
The porn industry needs to actually be creative in order to survive. There's no reason to buy a video of people having sex when you can just watch one online for free.

^Porn is doing fine. The industry still makes a lot of money as a whole. Yes, there are less scenes available than 10 years ago. Less companies making content. But , i tend to think the market was over saturated with companies churning out weekly releases of "nice tits volume 73" and you could see your favorite performer put out 140 scenes in a year. Peformers are making less scene income but have offset that with camming, websites, escorting, and feature dancing. People are paying for porn enough that we can get a lot of great porn coming out this year from gorgeous women and great quality product. It is surviving just fine in spite of the piracy. One could argue that it's us old schoolers that are pumping our money into porn and everyone under 30 is torrenting and living on tube sites. So, ,that may lead to a reckoning one day , who knows. For now , I think great porn is being released, in high enough quanity to satisfy anyone even the person at home 18 hours a day with 5 tvs going. I find the quality of tube sites and all the ads and bullshit to be just trash crap. I will pay for my porn and get full screen high quality product I can keep and enjoy. With music customers are willing to pay for Spotify and the like. Films and TV the same. Both like porn have free ways to watch some legal some not. But not as many percentage wise are willing to pay for an online membership for porn. I think its a mix of lack of varied content as each site mostly has its niche. Add to that cross selling and misleading deals if not careful. In my experience only few pay sites have content and great website content apart from videos/picsets.
There is no comparison that can be made between porn and any other entertainment industry because Ultimately it all comes down to numbers. The number of people that watch TV shows, mainstream movies or listen to music can be counted in the billions while the number for porn is in the millions. That's why all mainstream industries can still make huge amounts of profits all the while millions of people steal or watch/listen for free their content.
^No argument from me. That's why I believe the porn industry who were already having problems with torrent sites may not have realised just how much worse their fate would be with the arrival and then proliferation of Tube Sites. A torrent is a bad thing but it takes software and time to download but a Tube video is immediate and only requires internet access.
^That's true but people who pay for porn like you and I want to have that porn on our drives because we want to watch it at any time and with a higher quality than can normally be found on tube sites.
Using the original porn providers site beats using tube sites for quality, no advertising and so on. I believe the market is there but porn site reputation isnt. For e.g 3 day trials have put off customers more than they have gained due to limited access and expensive monthly payments more than the standard price. Add cross selling and 1 month reduced price but followed by a more expensive month to month plan. I think a more transparent pricing matched with improved content so more scenes are worth watching would make more money for everyone in the industry.
I think one reason for this may be that DVDs are completely offline. There are lots of people that don't want their porn habits exposed to the internet for one reason or another.
1-Can you name me five sites whose reputation you consider to be bad or worse? *I can name many sites whose content isn't always what I had hoped it would be but this has nothing to do with their reputation. In fact the only site I can think of whose reputation is lacking is Bangbros and the main reason is that they are one of the worst (if not the worst) culprit when it comes to cross-sells. Many a newbie has discovered that clicking on some links within BB will lead to extra memberships that they did not want. 2-Granted trials tend to all suck but I think the people who complain about them have very few reason to do so because if they stopped and thought about it. They would realise that if a membership is 20$ or less then why would the owners give full access to someone who is only willing to pay 1$? *That said there are some sites that offer full access trials at a price reduction from the full membership price. Usually these trials have a time constraint on them. 3-Maybe it's just that I've been surfing for porn for a decade now because I find that most sites are honest in their pricing. Granted the cross-selling can be a huge pain in the ass but this isn't as much of an issue now and hasn't been for many years because I think those sites that were guilty of doing that got their fingers slapped by CC Processor who had to deal with customer complaints. *Of course that doesn't mean that sites have stopped offering cross-sales but more often than not the option on the join page needs to be clicked on to be activated as opposed to already being activated and requiring the user to cancel resale. 4-Now in regards to improved content. The big problem with a statement like that is that ultimately it is too subjective and therefore hard to gage what that means. I mean what I might like isn't what you like and therefore a site that you and I both have a membership with would be viewed differently depending on our personal taste so that while we make like the overall content. We don't like specific parts of it. *The good news is that there are still so many different sites on the net that it's very hard for anyone to not find at least three or more that produce porn that they like.

To be honest...who cares? Even if the porn industry was doom nobody would care. Internet would be full of free porn for everybody for the next 50 years! Nobody but all performers... It's their problem not our!
Reasons I tend to support porn companies with subscription: - High quality content e.g 4K, exclusive videos - e.g Tushy etc. - Great quality content that I want to support e.g HardX / XEmpire - Offers scene interaction / fan requests - Newer sites tend to be more transparent, not offering multiple subs within a sub e.g a little tick box for a $54.95USD/month membership to a discontinued site.... For $10/month its a good deal lets be honest - some have less budget but I don't mind subbing yearly for the sites I always enjoy. Some are more expensive, but you can wait for a good special or deal from another site e.g 30-40% minimum I think the only way you can entice more people (who don't pay e.g use tube site A, B) to pay for their porn would be for example allowing 4K quality trailers on tube sites. Push the quality option and available for download straight away via. X-website. Then again tube sites won't offer that because they make money off the copied content which I find quite appalling. Its crazy that the porn industry can be put on its knees because of the tube sites. Once you go 1080p/4K you struggle to accept lesser quality xD Thats why some sites, I can't sub because of bad production quality. A large factor for me buying porn was accessibility & scene quality (12000Kbps 1080, 4K and also cast/director). I would personally pay a lot more if I had options to suggest performers, scene location and theme/costume/uniform etc. I participate here because some directors come on here and interact asking for suggestions from sites I sub to. I've always wondered whether crowdfunding options by porn sites would work. For example, a porn company offering performer X for example doing a gangbang (example) as a bonus scene, could offer to the subscribers to fund a percentage e.g 50-80% of the scene as an extra then future subscribers and dvd sales are the cream on top of the funding. It could mean $2-5/subscriber (just a random example) or if some die-hard fans wanted it to happen could help fund it with significant support which offers more reward (similar to kickstarter pledges). You could offer extra BTS, interviews, video of photoshoots etc. as bonus for backing the scene etc. This all on top of the usual 1-3 scenes (or more) per week. You could pitch parody series, fans could pitch scenes. There are certain scenes I would personally pitch in to see because at the end of the day you're paying for entertainment you wish to see.

Is the porn industry doomed? Not by a long shot, in fact the entire reason we have internet as we know it is because of military application and pornography. If you don't believe that, feel free to look it up. The explosion of evolution of technology will require serious adaption however. Companies may indeed be fewer or they will make a direct sale right into your living room knowing exactly what you want without you having to say a word. Webcamming will undoubtedly allow many people to cut out the middle man and go straight for interacting or having 'on demand' scenes where you get to control the action. I wouldn't say gonzo is out but there's an revolution of storytelling within pornography for a change of pace. Instead of just amateur series like the famous Up and Cummers line that Randy West pioneered or Dirty Debutantes with Ed Powers or just the Bangbus or just full on features; what's coming back in scintillating stories that weave taboo and illicit seduction into scenes that leave viewers hooked like a crack addict. Yes people come and go in the industry, that has always been the case and will never change but there's always new blood coming in. Tyler Nixon, Mickey Mod, Van Wylde, Peter North, Manuel Ferrera, Erik Everhard, Danny Mountain, Nacho Vidal, Ramon Nomar, Tony Ribas - so I'd say your fears are rather unfounded.
