For porn, most of the stuff shot today is shot using digital video; it's fairly uncommon for adult productions to be shot on film.
The newest crop of "high definition" pornos are more of a gimmick now since there isn't a mass-market way to distribute HD content. There's a format war brewing with competing HD-DVD standards, so expect a lot of confusion for the next couple of years until one of them wins out.
