When we talk debut works, many starlets are often extremely nervous fx. An Tsujimoto, Karen Sato and Yua Mikami. It is offcourse very natural to be nervous as you are doing something big for the first time. One AV Idol we often talk about on this thread is Ichikawa and while she was seen as quite nervous/sweating furiously to be frank, her second scene on her debut work was quite different. It was very clear that she was enjoying herself and that she liked to test out diffrent positions.

Our last discussion about importing AV idols to the American Market was quite productive, with many good replies. So another topic: Should there be more crossovers between the companies? SOD has had several crossovers with other big AV production companies. Besides the many inhouse crossovers like Shiraishi in a Dandy production or China for ナチュラルハイ. One thing I would like/love is too see several of Ebisu Muscats girls face off against each other in AV productions. Like Ichikawa and An Tsujimoto, Yua Mikami and again Ichikawa (They are the only two second gen members of the new team and has hosted AV open together, so it would be a big seller) or Kirara Asuka and Iori.
I don't mind more crossovers, but they (Dandy) needs to do a better job of editing. I suspect they were giving Shiraishi a couple breaks during the shooting, due to the size of the dick, but the way they cut it made it feel unnaturally abbreviated. Moreover, watching Sean Michaels clap like a giddy fan of hers was kind of weird. As for idols, I like some idols that become porn stars, but the opposite isn't really my thing. The abovementioned work was her graduation work from SOD. But I have a sneaky suspicion that either joins Madonna or S1. Now for something else: One thing that bugs me when we talk the American porn industy, is that they announce a scene in lets say Feb and they at the same time announce a release date - in June or later. While in Japan you don't release infomartion about a scene at least two months before its due and in Japan, the big names normally does a new scene or dvd at least every single month. While in America you can have a starlet make one scene and then have her wait three months or more before shooting the next
^ I'm not sure why that is...maybe the producers like to wet your appetite to keep you checking in on their websites or twitter. The worst in all of Western porn is Woodman. That guy releases questions portions of his castings and photos from scenes he knows you want to see to wet your appetite. Then he puts some of them in the Disney vault until he feels like releasing it. He edit all the scenes himself so it takes forever for stuff to come out. My knowledge of JAV release dates is a bit limited. Some companies like Prestige post release dates and box covers for some girls multiple months in advance. I get to see a box cover a like, but I have to wait 2 months to see it:/...that company sucks. I find I prefer girls who aren't on contract in the West, but prefer them to be on contract in the East. I prefer having a reliable schedule where I know when releases are coming out. The JAV girls who aren't on contract are the worst. Some girls will do a lot of single scenes (which I avoid) or favor genres that I hate. Aimi Yoshikawa did A LOT of work, but much of it was ropes and ties - which I despise.

More likely the issue is just as in Western porn: finding guys who can perform on camera. Also the seem to rarely pick their male performers based even remotely on physical attractiveness.
