Has anybody been paying much attention to the comedies Jerome Tanner's been coming out with? I was nicely surprised by his 5 People You Meet In Porn , and his A Day Without Whores was just as good. Heck, I'd put the two of them right up there with a lot of Jonathan Morgan's comedies for quality. They're darn funny and the sex has been hot and "couples friendly" without being boring. Has Tanner been flying below everybody else's radar as well or did I just miss him for some reason?

I tried my hand at Tanner when I started watching porn again 4 or 5 years ago, because Legend was pretty much the only couples' studio in my sex shop. At the time, Briana Banks, Jewel de Nyle & Hannah Harper were their covergirls, and even though the comedy bits were fine enough, I thought the sex was terribly boring and had issues with lighting (some pink & orange saturations) so I stopped buying them altogether. Male cast was also an issue. I'd love to give it a try again, if I had the possibility to rent.
I liked the Trailer Trash Nurses series that he did. I haven't seen all of them, but I have seen a few. It's a been a few years, but they are the sort of feature porn that I can enjoy. They provide just enough plot to string together the scenes and provide some context. He keeps the feel nice and goofy and doesn't get too serious. Also, he keeps the sex scenes a decent length, so I don't feel short changed by any of the scenes. One reason that I don't often watch features is that the sex scenes are too short. I've been thinking about picking out one or two to buy on DVD to see if I enjoy them as much now as I did then.
Another good thing about his movies is that they can be bought for remarkably low prices online.
I've always liked Tanner -- and this is from the Western Visual days when he was regularly employign Rachel Ryan, Mike Horner, John Leslie and Careena Collins, to name but a few.
So I'm glad to see he's still at it.
I caught a Day Without Whores without being aware of the mainstream flick it was spoofing, and it made me laugh... plus the sex was pretty good too (bonus!).
I always make a habit of buying at least one Jerome Tanner movie every other month or so. Few directors have me virtually airborne with laughter as often as Tanner and his scenes do. And for me personally, humor is very potent, sure-fire aphrodisiac.
Oh, and I'm assuming that he's parodying "A Day Without A Mexican" just from the title alone. Although I have yet to check out the Tanner version.
Jerome Tanner has been making some really great fun & sexy features for the past 3 or 4 years. He's definately under the radar. You won't find pirate ships or see helicopters blown out of the sky in his flicks, but you will get lots of humor and hot chicks. And, if you're watching porn with a civilian girl, nothing will relax her more than a good laugh. After that, anything goes.
If you haven't seen Tanner flicks lately, give him another shot. Keep an eye out for Tanner's A History of Porn and The Da Vinci Load out from LFP.
And, if you wanna spend an entire weekend laughing & jerking off, check out the following Legend Video titles directed by Tanner:
Vice Squad Role Models #1,#2,#3 Hate: A Love Story A Day Without Whores Trailer Trash Nurses #7 Amish Daughters The News Girl The Trial A Whore with No Name Whore Hunters Tales from the Script Dear Whore #1,#2,#3,#4 Pimped by an Angel
I just got "The News Girl" fairly recently, which was a real stitch. "Hate: A Love Story" is currently on my wish list and I might be picking that up in the new few weeks.
"Heist #2" gets a lot of play in my household. All I have to do is hold up the box cover to get my boyfriend bent in half with boyish giggles.
I like the comedy aspects. The sex is kind of average. It always seems like the Hustler ones are done on such a low budget. Seems like a guy who couuld use a bigger template.
