The last few of Jules' VHS tapes I've picked up have been missing two scenes. He has been going really long on the running time for his films of late, but these tapes I've picked up only included three out of five scnes on the VHS tape. Now I must point out, I'm not sure if this is a Jules/Evil Angel thing or something else.
Wondering if anyone can clear this up.
BTW: I'm not taking about all the dvd extras not being included, I'm taking about two entire scenes just not being there. It's as if the first three scnes are so long they decided to cut off the last two... This was a major dissapointment when I watched Take no Prisoners and the Mary Jane/Satvia and Alexis Malone scens weren't there...
Now I live in Australia and we can't just hire x rated tapes, we have to purchase them, so you can understand my dissapointment at spending $40 for a VHS tape and only getting three scenes.
I can understand companies wanting to push consumers into DVD over VHS, but in doing so by not giving them the entire film on VHS is a bit unfair.
Again, I'm not having a shot at Evil Angel, well because you guys are the best in the biz without question, I just want to know if this is how it's supposed to be, or if I'm just getting a dodgey version of these films...

Any info would be appreciated.

Thankyou.

I'm just curious as to why you're picking up the VHS tape anyways? DVD players are cheaper than a Jules Jordan movie. I know that's the case in the US, not sure about Australia though. DVD! DVD! DVD!

I've noticed that Jules Jordan dvds seem to have an inordinate amount of fucking in them.

HuggyBear,

You might try browsing the Internatinal Forum. I think others have managed to successfully beat those prices.

DenverDon

Rieekan has written an international shopping guide and I believe he's from Australia also.

Wow with those prices maybe you should switch over to Jules' online streaming- Divx downloads.

I've never tried it though so I can't tell ya about it.

HuggyBear,i hear your pain, ijust got flesh hunter 8 on vid and the last 2 scenes are not there. What i think the prob is they use the dvd to copy onto video and after 3 hrs they just end it.Its a dvd world now and thats how it is.
If you live in sydney u can go to the many porno books stores and buy a tape or dvd then take it back and trade it in for another, it doesnt cost that much so its kinda like renting them.

HuggyBear, check out adultdvdempire.com. I checked out their international rates. You could get an Evil Angel, new release, for $26.75 plus $17.50/$2.99 per item. At approx $47.24, and an est. shipping time of 2-4 business working days, I would think that is better than what you are paying currently for DVD's. Check out their international FAQ and let me know what you think.

At Evil Angel, the maximum time we can put on one of our high-quality tape stock VHS tapes is 2 hours 20 minutes.

Since Jules has been making his DVDs significantly longer than that, there are actually two edits of almost all of his recent movies... one edit that is the DVD; then he takes that edit (minus a scene or two that are the bonus scenes on the DVD) and also sometimes cuts little bits out of each remaining scene that is on the VHS to get the time down to 2 hours 20 minutes.

I highly recommend that you look at the suggestions from the others on purchasing the DVD versions online. You're getting almost twice the movie on the DVD - so twice the viewing time, twice the stroking! :)

It would be cheaper ordering online from the US (even direct from EA) then buying them at local stores that jack up the price at rediculous import price's

Huggy, Mike, I'm in Australia (Melbourne) and I buy DVDs from the US all the time. As an aside I'm paying about US$28 (AU$36) plus a couple of extra bucks for shipping for those Jules Jordan double-DVD releases.

Swallowtheload has the right idea, but I truthfully can't recommend adultdvdempire from my own experience and they're also very expensive as far as shipping goes. My personal favorite of the moment (and last two years) is AdultDVDToday, who charge US$4.95 (AU$6.30) for up to 5 DVDs or $9.95 for 6 -15 DVDs. (Artwork and DVDs are shipped in a Global Priority envelope. DVD cases are not shipped.)

That's only $42.30 for a 2 disc set of Jules Jordan's finest ponorgraphy, counting the postage, although you can include several other DVDs in the same package without adding to the postage costs. They also offer coupons! and you can get kickback! (basically, even more coupons after 1 or 2 orders!)

My orders from them typically take 5 days to one week to arrive. ie if you order Monday morning you might recieve it on Friday, if you're in an Ausralian capital city. This is because they're in Hawaii, which is geographically close to us and also only a few hours ahead of us on the East Coast (and a day behind).

No, I don't work for them (it'd be hard to do from here) but they've consistantly delivered the goods, and delivered them well for a couple of years now, and with our dollar strong against the US greenback at the moment..

When you order 8-10 discs at a time for a total cost of AU$220 or so, (including postage) it stacks up quite nicely against the shops here - it's actually cheaper for me to just buy new titles from the US then it is to swap them for $25-$30 a pop! Seriously! Do the maths!

This is because of the facts that pretty much all the stores linked here by ADT will have something on sale all the time, often good stuff going for US$10-12 (AU$13.70-$15.25) but often "normal" stuff averaging around the US$20 mark (AU$27). Compare that with a pretty flat rate of AU$55-60 from Club X regardless of whether the movie is good or shit, original, licenced and butchered (extras removed a la Evil Angel and Private Aust versions) or outright pirated. IMO there's really no question unless you're in a situation where you're not in a position to have things arrive in the post.

(Yes, sadly I often have seen pirated material sitting on the shelf for full price, not uncommonly right next to an original copy of the same title).

As well as checking out the International shopping guide linked by DenverDon, I also strongly recommend you check out this link to theAustralian Porn Law FAQ version .01 which I cobbled together awhile ago.

cheers,

scipio
