| axlsfury Senior Member 1110 Posts 7/04 | Posted - Jul 28 2010 : 3:11PM It's not that not knowing about a movie ruins it for me, but not be aware that things are coming lessens my interest and excitement as I'm eager to learn more about the release, participants, scenes etc and many studios seem to be able to provide some tidbits of into to whet our appetite prior to the release. I hear you about the desire to have fans promote, and I think they would do more if they were given a bit more to chew on up front. Graham at Elegant does a great job of simply posting here some details of the upcoming release well in advance, and then the fans grab on and the momentum builds. First the front cover or some screen shots, then the back cover, trailer etc. I think I've seen this occasionally for JJV products, but more consistently would I think bolster your image and relationship with the customers - and I think would have a positive impact on your sales! Anyways, I'm only one person and my concerns, not to sound corny, are because I actually care about JJV. Cheers man. Axl [Link] |

The individual video series all have a premise JJ adheres to, and it is hard to dispute Jules offers a variety! There is always a delightful mix of talent ranging from vets to newbies, varied ethnicities, levels of intensity (sensual to man-eaters), and the occasional "first time I've ever done THAT!" Jules was one of the first directors to put out 3+ and 4+ hour vids, which many find hard to duplicate without having long boring scenes -- JJ knows how to mix up the tempo. Folks need to get past the fact he's been doing this for 10+ years and you just aren't going to love everything he does. I have the neurotix habit of ranking things at times, and I've made a list of JJ vids I own trying to see which one is my favorite. Starting out on a four star rating, I pick my favorites and many handily get a 4 star, with most others receiving 3 1/2. That doesn't help so I make it five star and my inclination it to bump up just a few. You see where I'm going? When 3 1/2 was just shy of "the best", now is a sub-par ranking. It's only so I can differentiate between them that it gets a "lower" ranking, yet the video doesn't lose any of its inherent quality just because I rearranged my ranking system. Kind of screwy. Another way to think of it is that he's made so many good movies, with so many great moments that we're all jaded. It's more novel to complain then to praise at this point, which is a shame. Not many people liked Eyes Wide Shut, but fuck, it's still Kubrick, right? (Don't get you're panties in a bunch, i'm not equating JJ with Kubrick, no offense JJ!) For us, it's usually around $10 - $12. What happens after that is COMPLETELY beyond our control.
