Jason Curious reports that the station has gone off the air, following recent staff resignations and a bounced payroll. It took a real bozo to drive that enterprise into the ground - everything I've read seems to indicate that John Belinkie didn't know squat about how to manage people let alone turn around a business.
Hopefully this bust-out puts Belinkie in personal bankruptcy court; best wishes to all the other people that did their best to make KSEX work.

I always hoped that KSEX would survive the storm somehow but this outcome seemed inevitable with all the problems they faced on a consistent basis. I'll always remember the good times...

Tony Batman and i were on ksex tuesday nights (A! Entertainment)... I just heard the other day that it was done which is kind of a bummer. I am sure all of us who had shows on ksex will find an alternative place to hear ourselves talk. In the meantime...

That's unfortunate.
That said, it could be an interesting opportunity for Sirius Satellite Radio. There's a pretty decent cross-over audience for both KSEX/porn and Howard Stern and the Howard Stern wannabes. Sirius currently has two stations devoted to Howard... Howard 100 and Howard 101. Howard 100 plays Howard's daily show every day and then repeats it throughout the day.
Howard 101, far and away the weaker of the two channels, repeats Howard's daily show one time, beginning at 9AM EST (6AM PST). Then, they have Bubba the Love Sponge (boring as hell), an hour or two of variety programming (typically stuff like Jackie Martling's "Joke Hunt" which blows) followed by Ferrell (decent but not outstanding sports talk show).
I'd love to see Sirius/Howard 101 keep the West Coast Howard replay, dump Bubba (he only has a one year deal again which expires at end of year), and 90% of the variety crap. Keep Ferrell with some minor formatting changes. Pick up some of the KSEX programming to fill the slots vacated by Bubba and the other programs (about five hours per day would become available if they gave Bubba and the variety morons the boot). You've got a built-in audience with some definite interest, good personalities on the KSEX side, etc... Could be a really good thing, IMO.

Howard couldn't deal w/ the competition. He has his show to prop up. He wants all the pornstar interviews to be on his show. And since he holds a sword over Sirius's collective head, he would never let it happen. I think its a great idea, I'd love to hear it.

Probably a few years ago, it was an idea that had some juice, but basically since porn has been absorbed into so many mainstream outlets (like Stern, etc.), there's really not a need for it. Will porn star karaoke survive?

I can confirm Jason's report. Rev. Mel called me Sunday night to tell me her show on Ksex had been cancelled and Ksex was closing. We had an independent report from someone regarding the closing on Friday night, and ironically saw Rainy and Cuz at Chili's, where Rainy predicted the station wouldn't last past Monday.
Porn Star Karaoke is now independent. Sardo's will live on forever even if PSK doesn't. Matter of fact, they're still accepting sponsors and promotions.
In regards to Howard Stern and other stations, it wasn't uncommon to hear that Howard and other stations ripped off Ksex ideas regularly. However, that's not surprising. As a frequent guest and visitor, from what I saw, the problem really lay in trying to put a polish on the station for satellite. The impression I got is it was never completely ready for prime time. The problem with corporate run places is anyone can put together a group of ragtag misfits. Suits usually want to see something polished. Of course, I disagree with corp thinking. No combat ready unit passes inspection, but try explaining that to an executive in a sharp suite at XM or Sirius.
Best wishes always,
Jay

this is rotten news. Would love to know the details of how KSEX bit the dust, ala WCW. Some good memories from there like Cytherea, Lorrainiac & cuzzin fucker, Brooke & Don & others. RIP KSEX.

I'll be honest: it bored me.
When I found it I said, "whoa! This should be good!" But all they ever did was tell barely amusing stories about each other.
