While everyone else is waking up, if you put Lasersedge into the search feature I suspect it will come up with several threads that I think will give a lot of information on the mechaincs of the various different US retailers and resolve your questions.
Meantime also, AFAIK, what Lasersedge will ship and how long it takes may depend on which shipping option you pick.
Edited to add that Lasersedge generally has good feedback.
I think Laseredge are very reliable (tested),charge almost nothing for shipping but just a bit more expensive than the average online retailers probably due to low shipping costs.
They ship complete with boxes and covers, to Australia anyway. Don't know about other countries. Delivery has never taken over 2 weeks so far using the Adult Shipping Special.
My only complaint about Laser's Edge is their lack of real time inventory. I've bought many DVD's from them with an inventory status of "Ships in 2-3 days" that have ended up being on backorder for a significant length of time.
Most of the time it takes two weeks before I get my package and I live in Holland.
Check your orderstatus Billy244, maybe the movie is not in stock. I once had to wait more than 3 months before they had a movie in stock, of course it was an Extreme Associates title ;-)
Can't be because I also use the 1.99$ shipping and never had a problem since Lasersedge are using their new shipping service and that's shipping to Holland.
If I were you I would wait for another week and then e-mail Marc about it.
Sorry to hear of your problems, Billy & Big Ferret. I've been a regular customer of Laser's Edge for quite a while now and never had any major problems with them, and their shipments only take about 3 days to get to my door. Of course living in the US can have its perks occasionally.
am i to understand that you guys pay only $1.99 for international shipping??? geez, that's like half of what i pay for domestic. if that's the case, then i can almost guarantee that's part of the problem. the United States postal service has a really cheap mailing option called Media Mail, which retailers sometimes use. it once took 3 weeks (21 days) for me to receive something from only 3 states away using Media Mail. if for 1.99 LE is using some internatinal version of Media Mail, it would not surprise me one bit for a package to take 2 months+ to deliver.
That's right and that is one of the biggest reason why Lasersedge is my favorite company. Also they're pretty cheap compared to other stores and no custom problems like other stores. I never had to wait more than 15 days for my package to arrive and I think that's pretty good compared to the price I pay for shipping.
i think laseredges knows that Ramsey is a senior member in ADT that's why he only have to wait 2 weeks !!
lol

I have wonderful service with LaserEdge. My order are filled quickly and giving speical care. LaserEdge and Playtime Cinema are the only stores have fast and qucik turn around service. They even listen to you when they call and PLUS they even answer emails, and are VERY understand to your needs !!!
On the other hand Adultdvdempire has horriable service. I well not recomment them or buy from them every again.
this company looks very professional ... i would like to give them my business, however ... after my first order with them this weekend, i found out what many others have said ... they do not have a real time inventory.
of the 3 titles i ordered ... all were listed as "IN STOCK, SHIPS 1 - 3 DAYS" at the time i placed my order. after ordering, 2 of 3 titles were listed as backordered on my order list.
(these titles are still listed as "IN STOCK, SHIPS 1 - 3 DAYS" in the listings.)
i chose to cancel the order and pay a few dollars more to go through a company who i know has them in stock. customer service was very helpful and quick to cancel the order for me.
Thought I would chime in here since there is some confusion on our listings. All of our adult listings, except of the rare instance of preorders, say the following "Usually Ships in 1 - 3 Days". There is nowhere on the site that claims "IN STOCK". This does not mean we do not have anything in stock. We in fact have 6,000 plus titles in stock ready to ship. The reason that this inventory is not listed is because we, unlike most of the other sites, run a retail store using our inventory. So our warehouse is our store (located in Indiana). Therefore the logistics of realtime inventory are virtually impossible at this point without some major investment in a new program.
However, we define our stock listing "Usually Ships in 1 - 3 Days" as the following:
If the title is in stock it will ship within the first business day of the order (so if you ordered today, it would be shipped by tomorrow, the first full day). If a title or titles are not in stock, they "Usually" are back in stock within 3 full business days from the time of the order (meaning if you ordered today, they would be in stock by Thursday, in most cases). The thing to remember is the "Usually", all titles are subject to availability. Sometimes titles are out of stock with suppliers/manufacturers and do take longer to get back in stock. In this case we ship them as soon as they come back in stock. This could be a few extra days, weeks or months.
"Back Ordered" with us does not mean you are going to have to wait weeks for a title to come back in stock. Rather it means that we were out of it and had to order it back in stock. We "usually" have it back in stock within 2-3 business days.
I hope this clears up some confusion on our order system.
Marc, thanks for the explanation. I can understand that except for one thing, it doesn't appear that when one of those "Usually ships in 1 to 3 days" titles is taking the weeks or months the status is changed to indicate that it might take weeks or months for the people about to order it. I've had "Real Girlfriends 2" on order since 26July03, and the entire time (including when I checked before writing this post) it's been listed as "Usually ships in 1 to 3 days". Am I upset about this? A little, but I also knew it going in due to an e-mail from you when I enquired about why the "Real Girlfriends 1" I ordered from you was taking so long. Other people who might be interested in these titles after I reviewed RG1 don't know this, and I wouldn't blame them for being extremely irate. I think you'll find many of us to be understanding when something happens that's out of your control, but when it happens please let others who are considering getting into the same situation know so they can be prepared going in.
I am sorry for your disappointment. It sounds as though the package has been lost. I checked all the shipping information and it is the same as what we sent the package to. I will GLOBAL PRIORITY MAIL you another copy of this disc. I hope this is an acceptable solution.
Thanks Marc Daege
i don't know what is "global priority mail" but it sounds good ...
Marc from customer service always answer to my email
the only problem is that the first parcel had been lost somewhere between Indiana and France but i realy appreciate the way they deal with the problem ...
i have to buy another DVD with them but it is very difficult to choose
Well, I'm a little perturbed with Lasers Edge. I ordered 3 NinnWorx titles about a month ago. All 3 said estimated ship time was 1-3 days. I still haven't received them. I finally wrote LE to find out why, and I was told that they are having trouble getting stock on NinnWorx product.
If this is the case, why were they marked as 1-3 days shipping time? Why didn't I get an e-mail that my order would be delayed (instead of having to follow up)?
At this point, I've substituted some other stuff and had them ship, but I'm disappointed to say the least!
Same thing here (as I still haven't seen the Real Girlfriends 2 I ordered). I don't blame Laser's Edge if a company was normally in stock with their supplier and then something happens to hold up shipment if they let me know. Hey, shit happens sometimes. If they're going to hide from it and not let anybody know who's planning on ordering a title, then I have a problem with them. Case in point, the above mentioned DVD. Today is the two month anniversary of my order for it. I still haven't seen the DVD and every time I've checked (including as I wrote this response to make sure) it's been listed as 1 to 3 days out. I'm sorry, but for this Laser's Edge should be blamed! It seems pretty obvious to me that they know there's a problem getting this title, yet they appear to be refusing to let the customer know. I really wish one of the other affiliates would have a comparable price and have it in stock as I'd cancel the order in a minute!
Forgive me for echoing Astroknight's comments but I also think Lasers Edge is lacking here. I've had two disks on order since the begining of July - both of which are still listed as usually shipping in 1 - 3 days. I can understand occassional problems obtaining titles but this is actually quite a common occurance. I think the best solution would be to have accurate stock status on the website. I appreciate Mark's comments regarding the difficulty of implementing such a system but feel it would be worth it in the long run. In the final anaylsis it's (the otherwise excellent) Lasers Edge that lose out due to these problems. I'm very reluctant to order multiple titles now because there's no reliable indication of title availability.
Well, I'm now done with Laser's Edge despite loving the shipping time being only a couple states away and frequently being a couple bucks cheaper. I have no clue if I'll ever see the copy of Real Girlfriends 2 which I ordered 3 months ago . As part of my last e-mail to them I asked if they had any idea when the copy of The Exchange Student (which I ordered Sept. 5 and was listed as "1-3 Days") would be available. My question was completely ignored, which really amuses me as I see that the title is listed as coming out this week in the Upcoming Release Thread (which I knokw shouldn't be taken as firm release dates, but it sure gives one a good idea!).
My bigger complaint was that I ordered the House of Cards Collection (a 3 DVD set) and was instead shipped the House of Cards DVD. When I questioned them on this they told me that the specs at the bottom (a screen below the description of the movie, the picture showing a 3 DVD set, and the link to buy it) stated that it was a single DVD and was told that they could get it if I wanted. Out of curiousity I checked the site and did a search for "House of Cards" and the only result was the 3 DVD set at a much higher price than my order confirmation. I was told in the e-mail from Laser's Edge (the same one where they ignored my question about The Exchange Student ) that they could get it for me if I wanted it.
I e-mailed them back on Thursday afternoon telling them thanks, but I'm now done with Laser's Edge (I figure that the least I could do was let them know why they lost a customer). They list the House of Cards Collection as shipping in 1 to 3 Days, and after being burned on that 3 times now (as I also had something like a 6 week wait when I ordered Real Girlfriends 1 ) and getting shipped an item I feel is substantially different from what I ordered, I don't really belive anything I see on their site. I waited until now to post this to give them the 48 hours they say it often takes them to reply to say what their response was, but I haven't seen one.
I'd like to add my $0.02 worth on the subject of Laser's Edge:
I ordered a title listed as shipping in 1-3 days. I got an email notice on the second day saying that the title was back-ordered with no delivery date specified. I let the order ride. After a month, with no change in the order status, I contacted Marc. The resulting email exchange was very satisfactory. Although I never got the title I originally ordered (it is still unavailable), Marc offered me my choices from a list of titles he had in-house at very attractive prices. I picked several from the list and they were in my hand two days later.
I understand the Laser's Edge operating model - keep inventory as low as possible and list everything that is available from the distributor(s) on a nearly-immediate basis. The problem is that there is no easy way to know the distributor's inventory and/or supply problems.
Regardless of not getting the title I wanted, I am very happy with my treatment by Laser's Edge and with Marc's personal touch.
Up until now I was pretty happy with Laser's Edge, and every e-mail I had from Marc was very nice and very professional. The last e-mail came from a "Rob" instead, who I can't say that I'm impressed with.
I think the thing that pushed me over the edge was getting an e-mail that basically said it was my fault if I got an item that wasn't what it appeared to be on their site. The offer for the 3 DVD set also didn't appear to be anything with them taking back the one they sent. Instead it came off as "you can still buy what you thought you were getting from us". The type of attitude I perceived coming out of Rob's e-mail combined with his ignoring my question on Exchange Student left me more than a little ticked off.
Not getting Real Girlfriends 2 after this long is also irritating me more and more because when I was e-mailing back and forth with Marc this summer he told me that he wasn't sure he could get it and I told him that if he could get #2 I'd take that one instead. Putting myself in his position, I'd be ordering both of them to see which came in first (and to be fair, he very well may have and the company is that unresponsive). I was also turned off that up until the last time I checked, both Real Girlfriends and The Exchange Student were listed as shipping in 1 to 3 days. Once again, I can understand that some titles will be out occassionally, but when you have them on order for over a month shouldn't you change your listing?????
